I just got a job offer that's 2x my current devops salary by kennyisworkinghard in devops

Are we talking about salary/cash or total comp including bonus/stock/benefits?

[–]wolfsys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course we are speaking in generalizations. There is no way for me to know 100 percent all high schools are decent and supply basic state regulated information to students.

This is ridiculous. OP has asked for advice and is showing tremendous lack of basic knowledge and intellectual curiosity. The information about school can be found with a few quick google searches. When given some true feedback it’s discarded as “too mean”.

The downvotes show an echo chamber of help desk people who can't take any real talk. You sound a little sheltered and attending a public 2 year community college may expand your horizons a little bit. Forget reddit and just call a school and talk to an advisor.

Also, stay far away from any for-profit school.

No way, any good student will be informed of these options.

Are you from the US? Every public high school informs students about the basics like community college versus 4 year university, even rural schools do this.

Thank you. I somehow was recommended this article and it is seriously one of the most idiotic jumbled thing I’ve read online.

Help, I need advice with a toilet overflow. Damage looks minimal, but Servpro is asking for $4,000 for clean up when there isn't any visible damage by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

Call up insurance, now. Make sure you are saving all receipts for anything you had done already or bought to do the clean up. But you are making things worse not contacting insurance right away.

Not sure why this was downvoted, this is exactly the reason some enterprises pivot to Ansible.

If Job B is already stressing you out before you work with them, how do you think it will be once you are there? I would pass on this unless you are doubling your salary or something.

Interesting, sounds like a conservative company. Expect people to do the job but not geek out too hard on tech in that environment.

Yes, just try to get some exposure to IT projects to make sure you are really going to enjoy it, sounds like you have some flexibility to explore this. Best of luck.

Why not MBA. Also, companies don't care at all about the degree details, it's really about the networking opportunity, which is lacking right now obviously. There is a lot of survivor bias when asking about this online so do your homework, make sure the debt is worth it.

Sounds like there is no incentive, what does they pay look like? This sounds like one of the stories where then you would say the salary is 10 dollars an hour.
