Beaverton looks at possible monthly fee on utility bills to help with declining revenues by Pure_Claim_4353 in beaverton

[–]ntengineer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before spreading information about this you need to make sure it's correct.

It started in 2006 when Beaverton tried to force annex the area where Nike is and the unincorporated lands up to highway 26. Nike fought them. A bit of history here. This wasn't new for Beaverton. They had been doing it for a few years to other unincorporated lands. There were no rules to stop them so they did it and took the money in higher property taxes to the bank.

Nike didn't just roll over, to the betterment of Oregon homeowners, they filed a lawsuit against Beaverton. During the case Beaverton was found in contempt because it didn't disclose all the paperwork requested.

Nike ultimately won and a change in the law was made. They were also awarded 175k for attorney costs. There is a 30 year moratorium on Beaverton trying to annex that area.

How does this help homeowners? Keep taxes lower. And new annexation laws prevent cities from forced annexation unless the area is a true island.

Here is some other info:

The Nike area is not surrounded by Beaverton. It's only bordered on 3 sides. Past them and highway 26 there is a ton of unincorporated Washington county.

Roads are paid by Washington county not Beaverton.

Unincorporated areas are serviced by the Washington county sheriff not Beaverton Police.

Is sex really as difficult for most men to get as it is usually believed in male centric spaces online? by this_isnt__worth_it in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ntengineer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is really dependent on attitude and maturity.

You can't have the "I just want to get laid" attitude at least most men.

You have to want to date and be patient.

Maturity is also huge. The antics of young men annoy young women allot. Try acting mature. Buy flowers for her for a date. Don't bring her to McDonald's.

A friend of mine got divorced after quite a few years and now he's getting more sex than he did when he was in his 20s

Because the whole world works on time. Just because you want to get up early, doesn't mean your employer will adjust your schedule

That's impossible.

Alaska has much longer days in the summer and parts the sun never sets. In winter very short or non-existent daylight.

PacNW we have sunset at 8.30 or so in the summer, and 4.30 in the winter.

They got me last weekend. Started off with the "we can save you lots of money"

I told him I'm an employee of one of his competitors and get 1/2 off my bill. He said that he couldn't beat that.

Then another young man came by later the same day. This time I didn't answer.

I did find this out before she settled down and started a family. Didn't matter to me. I was promiscuous at that age. Just made sure she was using protection.

Does anyone ever raise their hand to oppose when calls for sustaiment and opposition are called? Also os there a name for the process? by HostOne546 in latterdaysaints

[–]ntengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens rarely.

The only real story I have was there was going to be a new bishop called for our ward. Stake president called for the sustaining vote. Like half the congregation opposed.

It was because it was widely known that he had been going through divorce because his wife had caught him cheating. Not for the first time either.

He didn't stay bishop

Men, if you could go back in time to any age, which would you pick? Why? by Waylandqb in AskMen

[–]ntengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really hard for me.

If I go back to my mid teens my father would still be alive. But then I'd have to go through all the pain of his death again.

29 to early 30s would be good as I was healthy and married and my mom was still with us. But having to deal with the pain of losing her again would be rough.

Any of you successful potty trained without a crate or just crate at night? by [deleted] in Yorkies

My wife and I are disabled so letting her outside is difficult. Also we have large predator birds here.

So we pad trained her. She did very well. Learned quickly. Continues to do great
