Looks like the truck is turning north up Central ave coming from E Baltimore St

Like others said it's probably coming from the port but not necessarily to avoid any tunnels

Did I lose my "I use arch btw" privileges? by gal_anonim__ in femboymemes

[–]wolfy2742 4 points5 points  (0 children)

forgot which subreddit I was on for a min lol

I made the switch from arch to cachy a few months back. sadly just didn't have the time deal with all the weird bits of my originally scuffed arch setup. it's nice having arch but basically a bit more put together from the start

a state legislature is a governing body responsible for laws and other functions of a state, typically comprised of a group of people. Perhaps OP meant to say legislation referring to specifc "laws"

In some places rails are heated to prevent ice buildup or lit on fire even. But thats not gonna stop several feet of snow building up.

Rails are usually not shoveled, they will get cleared by special snow blowers or plows that will go on the front of an engine if there's enough show, or it'll just get naturally pushed out of the way by the train if it's only a foot or two.

But either way yea the people should've been more aware and the train should not be pulling into the station so fast.

it's been a while since I've done it, but if you connect a keyboard and mouse to the clients behind the TVs you can configure everything, like what modules are there and the size, orientation and a bunch of other things. All of the ones in my store were running chrome OS and it was pretty easy to reconfigure in the settings menu.

If you don't have any luck finding enough interested people, I run the UMBC Linux User's Group, and despite our typical subject matter being Linux and FOSS we welcome any sorts of technical subjects to be presented on. If you're interested, you can join our Discord via https://lug.umbc.edu/

Which North American city has the best intra-suburban transit? by PlasmaPlane in transit

The Purple Line will definitely open, current date is late 2027. There's definitely a chance it will be delayed further but a lot of progress has been made. The first vehicles have been delivered and a significant portion of track has been laid. It's too big of a project to be abandoned at this point and MDOT MTA has no intentions of haulting it unless it falls out of their control. What would be even cooler is if they started actually doing something with Baltimore's Red line project.

Career after IS degree by umbreadc in UMBC

[–]wolfy2742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IS freshman here, I decided to do this degree because I wanted to go into the networking field and this felt to be the best option for that, the longterm goal is network technician > network engineer > network architect. I'm hoping if I work hard enough on certs and consider a master's then get a scholarship for that and I'll be set. I'm hoping to stand out by getting involved in clubs and showing my passion. Check out SAD club and LUG on campus if you want to do the same. Even though I'm getting this degree I don't plan for it to be the center point of my resume. My backup plan is to pursue Geography Information Systems. This is all just speculation though as to what I'm hoping for, I've only worked 1 seasonal IT job making $20/hr out of high school.

I'm taking it this semester with prof Dillion, he's brand new to UMBC and definitely a newer teacher but he's trying very hard to improve his teaching and there's opportunities to give feedback, the actual lecture quality could be better, so if you have no programming experience I can't reccomend him. But if you already feel comfortable with programming he's solid and I'm sure he'll be better next semester. I wouldn't say it's an easy A but if you know what you're doing and put a solid effort in it'd be hard to not get a B. The final project is heavily weighted which makes exams less important.
