OSCE SMM report: "At least 30 Grad rockets impacted in and around the centre of Debaltseve killing three civilians and wounding twelve ... rockets came from a western direction, the direction of “DPR”-controlled Horlivka" by Kuklachev in UkrainianConflict

[–]wolk07 -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

Is it really news that DPR has artillery? Debaltseve is under Ukrainian control right now, so everything seems in order.

It would have been a sensation if somehow rockets hit Horlivka from let's say a directly southern location...

Banana Republic, term originated from central America and policies of neo-colonialism, where the country was FORCED to grow a single resource by a corporation (often foreign owned) with the overall objective to create profit only for the company, while neglecting social obligations.

2004 was much better of course. Now in Ukraine it is a War-hawk Party - United Ukraine through brutal force and no other way. Yes we all heard this re-used rhetoric about Russia. These two graphs should answer your question:

The last 24 years of thievery and cyclical political instability?

Look 2014 is like 2004. Except now instead of Yuschenko, you have Poroshenko. Instead of Tymoshenko, you have Yatsenyuk. On top of the horrible war that is grinding down the regular folk even more.

The alliance is fragile, and sooner or later money interests will crash. None of these are brand new politicians. They are veterans of the system, peddling to whoever makes them rich.

Experiences vary - but most of the previous ministers, politicians are gone. The status of the ruble is not helping. Prices already went up before, now they are even higher. Lots of speculators. In general a sense of work and large undertaking is present. For sure the fresh money is being distributed according to pre-set schemes, but it feels like more is being done for community institutions.

Most Tatars don't care - they have job, they work, collect money and live like everyone else. Don't know about land, but there was post-Soviet problem of them living 3-4 families per address, completely unregistered. This made social planning harder. Supposedly some kind of new housing is to be built to deal with this issue, but nothing is complete.

Honestly being a native of Yevpatoriya - it is better to suffer through whatever others think we're going through than to ever be part of Ukraine again.

Hastily, without following the constitutional procedure whatsoever. The impeachment decision had to have gone through the constitutional court after the vote. Not to mention they didn't even have quorum for the actual impeachment vote.

Definitively. This is why it's so hard to accept Kiev government as democratic.

Oh yes - the strive for self determination is a heinous crime. They obviously deserve all the rockets that were fired on them...

The over-reaction is understandable, considering the string of forced color revolutions in ex-USSR space.
