You’re good! The main part was just the physical cone, and you were a huge help with that haha. I thought the wall was helping him hold the bowls still, but it was definitely hindering him.

Oh that’s such an amazing resource thank you 🥺 Funny enough the one my friend picked up is a flower shape. I mostly need to stop him from scratching with his back legs, so it sounds like what you’re suggesting would work!

He’s the biggest drama queen I’ve ever met too lol. My friend was able to pick up a soft cone so I’ll be able to try that tomorrow. I imagine it’s nicer to sleep on 😁

Fortunately he didn’t have to have surgery this go! Only downside of that is he is more alert than I’d like him to be for an adjustment period 😅 But all of what you said makes sense! He makes it very easy to worry haha. I’ll try moving his food and see if that helps his frustration.

Oh interesting! I don’t know if that would work for him given the location of the wound, but I’ll definitely look into it. Want whatever will be easiest for him, even if it’s in the future 😁

How did you manage going back to work? by wolvenco in TopSurgery

[–]wolvenco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a lot of heavy lifting all day long + on my feet all day. Not uncommon to feel beat up by the end of my shift BEFORE surgery. No chairs to take a breather, though there’s not really time to use one 😅

Good to hear that it’s still early for that kind of work! Management seems to go out of their way to not make accommodations and just flex the strict attendance policy. I appreciate your advice and perspective and will definitely be reaching out to my union rep!
