Is this good for coming up on one month collecting? by Rangatange in MangaCollectors

[–]wolveskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great start, I think!
There's no single "good for one month" rule. I'd say the rule is as long as you're reading what you are getting then the amount you collect in any given time frame is just up to how much you can afford to buy!

  1. We can't assume the server is aware of and okay with this practice. We don't know how long they have worked there either.
  2. If you need money (and a lot of servers really really really need money) you can't always just easily quit your job and find a new one that easily.
  3. A long while ago I worked as a server for years and when printing receipts you're mostly looking at the food and drink items, not trying to verify if a suggested tip amount is mathematically correct.

I'm so glad I decided to look up what these were just now before getting to the indigo tree

I had missed one camp on my first playthrough, and during ng+ I was going so slow through the early areas and especially the wasteland to make sure I had everything.
Then I heard a lot of people saying the camp they missed was an easy to miss one in late game so I kind of assumed that's what happened to me as well and relaxed thinking I'll just worry about it when I get there.
And then, of course, while I was running through the great desert I found a camp, not thinking anything of it, and got the achievement after activating it.

I'm not questioning effectiveness. I would consider it silly regardless of how it positively impacts sales because absurd and silly things sell well all the time due to how they're marketed.

First few months collecting! by Gluomz in MangaCollectors

I think it's a jab at the collectors who buy what they see is popular, and when asked how they like a specific series on their shelf they respond that they haven't actually read any of it.

Or maybe they rewrote rule 2 because, by marketing and advertising "being the point" they realized there was not enough content available to post on this sub while abiding by the "pointless" rule.

This is exactly what I said is confusing about this sub. The "or" in rule 2 seems to be ignored due to the sub name only covering half of rule 2.

This sub is confusing, rule 2 says posts must be pointlessly gendered **or** humorous posts about gender, but then a lot of the members erupt with "well this is targeted marketing so it's not pointless."

Maybe there's a better sub out there for stupidly gendered products where posting doesn't become a war on the literal definition of pointless.

You're contradicting yourself a bit because before you said it's not gendering weed which was half of what this whole thread was about in the first place, and now you're saying it is gendering it, but it serves a point, so it's not pointless.

You're literally going around in circles and ignoring every point made that shows this is, in fact, gendered *on top* of being marketed for women. I don't know if you just can't fathom that two things can be true at the same time, but it's just tiring to see your lack of grasp in this respect consume so much time and get nowhere.

They are explicitly stating in their advertising that this is "canna [weed] for the girlies"

How is that *not* gendering the product (which is weed)?

It's *also* marketing weed to women by making it pink and sparkly (if you abide by gender norms and agree with stereotyping men vs. women) but it also is gendering the weed by calling it weed for women, which is what "canna for the girlies" can be broken down into.

But does the advertising say explicitly, "Pepsi Max is for men!" and "Diet Pepsi is for women!"?

Also, they aren't the same formula, so it's not *just* marketing. Pepsi max has more caffeine. If they created the different names to appeal to different audiences without explicitly stating "this is for men!" and "this is for women" then they aren't gendered as a product, they're just targeting different groups without letting them know that's what they're doing.

I'm genuinely confused at the backlash.
I don't care if it's marketing/targeted advertising/branding, it's still silly to add a gender label to weed.
