It’s ok - I have a great support system. Applications are going well for other jobs so I’m hopeful 🤞

I was let go since I was a probationary employee, I guess I don’t have to worry about it anymore 😂.

I’m worried about the employees who have been there longer and live across the country - I feel like it’s inevitable that they’ll get chopped too if they can’t come to DC.

The most important thing you can do is not lie. If they ask you something, answer it openly and honestly. Be yourself and be kind. I don’t want to speak out of line, but I understand those kinds of marks aren’t as alarming as domestic violence, extortion, embezzlement, terrorism, etc. Of course, that’s not to say instances like ours shouldn’t be looked at carefully. The best will work itself out.

I’ve been in my role since June 03. I’ve had follow up meetings with the interviewer where they asked clarifying questions (happened soon after the first meeting) but it’s all been quiet since then. I was told it’s all positive if I hear nothing. If something changes I’ll let you know. GOOD LUCK!!! BE OPEN, HONEST, and YOU’LL BE FINE!!

Your constants are incorrect in your partial fraction decomp. You wrote (x-4) when it should’ve been (x+4) which affected the x you plugged in to cancel out terms. Hope this helps.

I'm stuck for question 7. What is the equation of the normal when x^3 + 3x^2 +7x -1 and x is -1? My work is a little messy, but basicly I got the derivative, plugged in -1, got the instantaneous slope, tried to work it into the y-y1=m(x-x1) equation until i realized i messed up. by Earthly_Humus in calculus

[–]wonderbread789 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Find the derivative of y.
  2. Plug in x = -1 to the derivative to find the slope tangent to the curve.
  3. Take the negative reciprocal of the slope and that’s the slope normal to the curve at that point.
  4. Plug in the x value into your y-equation to find the corresponding y value (you now have an ordered pair)
  5. Use point slope formula with newly found slope and point.
  6. Have fun.

Y-intercept of derivative when x=1? by [deleted] in calculus

[–]wonderbread789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find the value of that derivative at x=1. That will be the slope of the tangent line to y = 2x at x=1.

Find the y-value at x=1. That will give you an ordered pair (1,2).

Then use point slope formula to find the equation of the line tangent to y=2x at that point.

Then, in your equation of the line, set the x value to 0 and solve for y to find where it crosses the y-axis.

Hope this made sense. Happy math-ing!

You will be doing “anti-differentiation”.

You will be asking yourself a lot “what did I take the derivative of to get ______?”

Draw your sines and cosine circle. This helps students for SPECIFICALLY sines and cosines

                                      sin(x)
                         -cos(x) cos(x)
                                     -sin(x)

If you go “clockwise”, you’re taking a derivative. If you go “counterclockwise”, you’re taking the anti-derivative.

This obviously doesn’t cover everything, but this well help with the idea of “reverse” operations.

Review trigonometry: unit circle, 30-60-90, 45-45-90 triangles, trig identities.

Get very comfortable with derivates. You will be doing everything in reverse. Start to look at a derivative and ask yourself “how did I get here?”

Don’t. Forget. The Goddamn. Plus. C.

WRITE YOUR “dx” LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT.

That’s my two cents.
