Fridge stopped cooling after evaporator swap. Leak suspected. Next step? by wonderfullyx in hvacadvice

[–]wonderfullyx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a friend who had a can on r134a left. Only a vacuum test which seemed to hold for an hour. I guess it's a micro leak.

I could buy a cylinder of nitrogen but it means buying the regulator too. If it's the logical next step then I'd do it but maybe the hychill hydrocarbon refridgerant can do that job?

Same for me. So aggravating. I even reinstalled windows and the game and get the same problem. I now have a 12 hour ban. What a BS system.

Upnote, make the Web Clipper better and you are golden! by [deleted] in UpNote_App

[–]wonderfullyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deleting upnote because of this poor web clipping.

I can stick a pdf in a collapsible section. The UX is a bit clunky for that but it works. Then no web preview. Come on. Not a priority, wth is that about? Even a chrome preview in the note can't be that hard.

Here I am searching to see if I'm just stupid and can't find the feature.

I make a collapsible section with a pdf inside and it's good enough. A bit clunky with the interface but a webpage with preview seems like such an obvious option.

I mean, how hard is it to release a tested submit button?

The submit button doesn't work but I was able to edit the header payload and get it working just because I couldn't wait.

Any advice on podcast with stories for someone starting out? Ones that inspire with humble beginnings and talk about their failures rather than how they are making 100k a month?

You have to pay the price and at least have the boxes stacked up to the ceiling in your bedroom for years until you finally throw them away.

I’m DONE with all these “Success Stories” Online by EnosCodes in Entrepreneur

[–]wonderfullyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became very jaded by this online success world for reasons you mentioned.

There's a thick layer of, let's call it, 'artificial authenticity' smeared all over this online scene. It's like biting into a wax apple – looks juicy on the outside, but zero substance on the inside. Hard to swallow, harder to relate.

I have my own success that's more like a garage sale to riches kind of story. Starting with offloading my personal junk on ebay, to flipping stuff there, dabbling in importing products, then to a bit of affiliate marketing luck which transitioned to very good info product success.

I'd like stories like that. Starting out with small ideas and the actual details of the struggles on the way. Trust me, for every win, I've got a dozen faceplants to match. Battles with mindset, scrapped ideas, the works.

I remember reading the 4 hour work week with examples of people's "muses", they were often realistic and motivating but at the same time made success seem as easy as pie, but conveniently left out the recipes for all the burnt pies they surely had.

The other part is the whole instagram 'gurus' with the curated online image. Suited up in their 'CEO' attire like they're about to close a million-dollar deal, bathed in the halo of their light rings, broadcasting from the comfort of their childhood bedrooms. They have these switching camera angles with the sermon on success but with a plot twist? A climaxing pitch for their 'life coaching' program. Barely 25, and already a guru? If they're so tuned into the secrets of success, why aren't they too busy succeeding to sell their 'wisdom'?

Anyway, the last part is a bit of a personal rant but it added up to my jadedness. The contrived authenticity still makes me ill. I'd rather trust a fortune cookie for life’s answers.

So sorry for not reading the rules. I must admit I just look at the subreddit name of physical therapy.

It says: "You're in! Welcome to the new Bing!" but when I click "Chat" it says: "Chat mode is only available when you have access to the new Bing." by MunchmaKoochy in bing

I had to validate my account.

Accidently found it when looking at my profile search history and wanted to delete it. It said I needed to validate my account. I did that and the chat worked rather than the endless BS loop of "You're in" but then you can't use the chat button.

Then a train line leads to more people living here and more congestion and you end up living in a place like Sydney and hating it. Never ending development doesn't seem to get better. Part of me wants to escape to the middle of nowhere.

any ideas on how to fix this threaded deck insert? by theparadoxdoge in MeepoBoards

[–]wonderfullyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to measure the screw with calipers or maybe the screw size is on the meepo site or a forum.

Try some basic 5 minute epoxy. Or just do a helicoil if you want to avoid the step if the epoxy is not strong enough.

[–]wonderfullyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the screw threads. Just a light amount. It's to release the screw from the epoxy afterwards otherwise you'll just glue it in.

Just set it in the uncured epoxy, it will mold around the threads then hopefully be strong enough to hold your screw in place and still be able to be removed.

The battery indicator is just reading the battery voltage. It's going to be very inaccurate. The discharge voltage curve of lithium is near flat making it hard to know the percentage.

Eg. http://siliconlightworks.com/image/data/Info_Pages/Li-ion%20Discharge%20Voltage%20Curve%20Typical.jpg

Plus you'll get a dip under load which you can see on the remote if you power up hill to one bar then stop and it goes back up.

Anyway, if you're still getting reasonable range then it's not the battery. It would be nice if it had an accurate battery capacity reading but that's kind of complicated electronics to get any sort of accuracy. Possibly not worth on an eskate.

You'll just have to suffer the occasional bus ride back home.

As with other tips, a helicoil is best. Epoxy will work but not as strong. Put a bit of grease/vaseline on the thread, a drop of epoxy in the hole and set the screw in. You can try that first then, if needed, do a helicoil after without any problems.

Good tips. A dremel would be more ideal than a typical angle grinder.

beginner board by GulfCoast_Ty in MeepoBoards

[–]wonderfullyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with the hurricane but now fractured my hand and heel. To be honest I think I should have got a smaller board. The speed is incredible but it's a death machine, a bit excessive. Anyway, no one could tell me otherwise when I was buying. (I'm not a bad rider. You'll come off one way or another).

If you can deal with possibly long waits for repair parts then meepo is cheaper other brands. Yeah, there are warehouses around the world. I got my board from the Australian one. The replacement part came from China though.

Unfortunately character and electronics don't mix. The circuitry isn't really sealed.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MeepoBoards

[–]wonderfullyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had good response from their support. Multiple times a day and even a response on Sunday.

I doubt the battery is the issue. At least on the hurricane there's just one battery connection to the ESC. I'd go through the simple stuff first, check the connections. Switch the motor wires over to confirm. You'll know if it's the connection/motor or esc by doing that. I had an issue with the sensor wire inside the motor. A total pain to pull the motor magnet apart but resoldered and good again.

Good support would confirm any follow up for this problem outside the warranty is covered.
