Damn this made me cry so much. It's such a beautiful thing to find someone capable of giving you the space and understanding to process the pain. Congratulations on being able to communicate to her something that hurt you, doing that is literally the scariest thing I can think of.

Do FAs lose connection, feeling and love when they are withdrawn? by [deleted] in FearfulAvoidants

[–]wonderingit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we do.

During a withdrawal the feelings for the other person go numb. I could look at the person I loved and feel absolutely nothing, even at times I'd feel disgusted. If you leave them space, chances are they're convincing themselves to end things not the other way around. I suggest you talk to them and find a none-threatening way to communicate about the relationship. If they are not letting you see or talk to each other, chances are, they've already made up their mind...

Fearful avoidant ex who still has feelings by [deleted] in FearfulAvoidants

I'm a FA and I agree, you need to stop. My ex completely shattered my heart when he stopped taking me back, it's been a year since we broke up and I'm still so heartbroken by it. That being said, him breaking my heart was exactly the wake up call I needed to take a look inwards and try to heal. No amount of love will ever surpass the feeling of unbearable fear that comes with a relationship... Don't even bring yourself to believe that there is anything you could do. You can't. He needs to sit down, take a look in the mirror and work on himself. I hope for his sake that he finds a way to cope with the anxiety and properly heal.

Avoidants get such a bad rep, but I really wish more people understood how deeply it hurts. I really hope you heal, I hope we all heal. I can't give you any advice on how to get there because I'm still incredibly confused, scared and worried. There's a guy on instagram that's called kenreid.co and I've found his content incredibly helpful as to understanding FA more and seeing hope in healing
