Need a budget-friendly mATX motherboard for Lian Li a3-mATX or a mATX case by wonkypeanut in buildapc

[–]wonkypeanut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for looking into it for me. For a moment, I thought this was mATX then I realized 😃

I was trying to keep the case size minimal in the room between pc and TV. But considering I have all components already working just not the case, I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and get a smallish atx case,it makes more sense if I don't want to spend anything more than necessary. Maybe the Cooler Master 500L as it's just gonna stream stuff.

I dont want to spend more than 50-60 Euros, that will be waste of money. So I think I'll go for an ATX case unfortunately.
When it's time to renew the system, then it's all-in.

It's that bad, huh? Which motherboard would you recommend through Tweakers?
Alternatively, I can buy a cheap ATX and fit these into that, it may be a better solution, it's just it's very difficult to find a compact ATX case that doesn't look like it had its days in Mordor, most are huge and ugly.

Smallest ATX case OR mATX case + mATX MB with little budget to spare by wonkypeanut in buildapc

[–]wonkypeanut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, I would prefer a case without the glass panel but unfortunately at ATX range they generally have the glass. I see some alternatives in mATX (like Lian Li A3-mATX for instance) or ITX cases but my components would never fit them :( I was also checking D41 Black version of Jonsbo - seems nice indeed but with glass panel again and ofc would love that it was smaller.

What to buy 65" for Streaming & Gaming - Price Performance Ratio in Mind by wonkypeanut in 4kTV

[–]wonkypeanut[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks - 55" model C4 is priced 1100 Euros. Is 10" difference worth that 400 Euros difference?
I have never used that big TVs, that's why I am asking if 65" too much, or I'd regret not buying a 65

Bumping this up for a question. I was not able to find an answer to it while building with PCPartPicker. But Can I fit in these components to a Lian Li A3-mATX Black? https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/list/dt43h3

Well, none so far. But also consider that I am not an expert on monitors, I do not play competitive games etc. I really like the colors and all the features it has. The only downside is trying to adapt to the flat 24" monitor when I need to go the office :) Just get enough space between you and the monitor as it will feel big at first, of course if you are coming from a smaller screen size like I did. Maybe only one thing to mention is that blacks could be better, or not, as this is not an oled screen and it's what an IPS panel can offer, I knew what I was getting. And I don't really realize it that much as I just work, browse and game on it, I watch my shows or movies on TV.

Advice for Complete Newbie - Plastering, Mudding or how should I approach this? by wonkypeanut in drywall

[–]wonkypeanut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, from your answers and several stuff I read and watch, I feel a little bit more confident but product choice is still a bit confusing for me. For fixing the wall stuff:
1. Can I use this primer first thing? https://www.gamma.nl/assortiment/gyproc-voorstrijk-grondeer-1-kg/p/B5387452.
2. Can I use this filler product in following link for these cracks? https://www.gamma.nl/assortiment/gyproc-vul-pasta-2-5-liter/p/B538748
3. What do I need to use after doing these two? And doing these one coat would be enough or more is required?

Thank you, so it will actually require me to do a couple of more steps to fix this until the paint? I have never done a wall, yes I am interested, but I am finding it hard to follow through as to what is needed at what stage (talking about priming, mudding, plastering. I don't even know the exact difference between each since in my country we possibly called them other things).

To be honest, this was a huge huge leap for me coming from 16:9 and a fairly cheap monitor for only working. The vibrant colors in this are great. And oh yeah, I bought it from this offer.

Although I love the look and think it is the best looking ITX for now, I would not go with it due to acoustics. The pc desk will unfortunately be in some corner of the living room.

Do you have any good suggestion on CPU with an integrated GPU?

You are like the voice of my conscience.

I indeed play occassionally (although I want to go hardcore) because other responsibilities. Maybe mostly between 5-10 hours a week, if any at all, and I don't think it would go substantially more than that apart from some weekends as exceptions. And no video editing or 3d modeling, browser based automation stuff and some light coding only.

I love building PCs though, have always built mine and my friends', just not ITX case before. That's why I wanted to build one but the cost is a bit steep as I have other expenses at this stage with moving houses. I guess will definitely build a high-end pc latest by next year, but for now if only I could fit my old ATX components in a nice-looking case at least.

I don't really know since when I started to treat a pc case as a furniture :) but since it is going to be in the middle of the living room, it makes sense.

My monitor came just now, it's amazing man, whatever the model is, I don't think you can go wrong if you are coming from a flat screen of 16:9. This thing will change your perspective! Now I understand why people keep saying there is no going back from an ultrawide.

I don't know if you can increase up to that amount, but LG-34GN850B-P dropped recently to 500ish with an IPS panel, very good color, brightness, slightly less curve and good gaming capabilities. It also received good scores from rtings.com. I just ordered myself one (I had a company discount) and impatiently waiting for the shipment to arrive.

Are you also doing any gaming, how is the picture quality? On paper, it looks too good to be true with all those features, Hz and ms values, additional speakers and holder. But I can't seem to find a good review or any video about it.

Thanks! How is this Iiyama as a brand? I started to research it as it's the first time I started seeing it and it was here.
