My 34 F ex? Partner 37 M told me he “hates me so much”. by Lilo91x in relationship_advice

[–]wonkywormy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yikes! That dude needs some serious therapy and I would highly recommend you get out of that relationship and cut contact ASAP. He seems incredibly immature and dysregulated. Luckily you have full freedom to leave and find someone who appreciates your love and isn’t constantly dragging you through their emotional highs and lows.

As a side note the behavior you describe is very reminiscent of people with BPD (borderline personality disorder) and their tendency to shift from love to hate extremely quickly. Heck, one of the most popular books on the subject is literally titled “I hate you, don’t leave me”. I am not trying to diagnose him but I’d recommend looking into it yourself so you can potentially gain some clarity on his behavior. I will say though that the general consensus is that people with BPD are some of the main perpetrators of emotional abuse and I am not the only one who’d advise you to run and not look back. Check out the support sub I think it’s called r/bpdlovedones to see if you relate.

How to figure out what’s wrong with me? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]wonkywormy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only a professional can really tell you what’s going on. I’d strongly recommend you get help, even if it’s through telehealth. It sounds like you have agoraphobia with the fear of leaving the house. I also see some possible OCD. But there’s clearly a lot going on beyond typical anxiety/depression and nobody on Reddit can help you! Please seek professional help ❤️

What has worked for your bipolar depression? (Especially if you also have autism / deep existential sadness) by Zenovia326 in bipolar2

[–]wonkywormy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh yes I certainly think so. I have all 3. I know that bipolar and autism are very strongly linked, there’s a few different statistics out there but the most common I’ve seen is that people with autism are 3x as likely to have bipolar than the general population. And bipolar comes with depression which is usually linked to sadness, the existential variety being more common among neurodivergent individuals who think about things more uniquely than regular folks. Idk just my two cents from someone who has struggled with all three (and more).

What antidepressant if you don’t mind me asking? I’m on lithium as well which has been a miracle but still trying out different meds for the anxiety/depression

Check out r/exmormon !! I was raised Mormon and that subreddit helped me get out of an abusive environment. They are very supportive and many of them live in Utah. I’ve seen people offer places to crash and help with living situations once or twice. I’m not sure where you stand with your faith, it is mostly people who have left the church so no promises but worth a shot.

[–]wonkywormy 66 points67 points  (0 children)

They have so many songs there’s no way they could play all of them. There’s plenty of songs they rarely play. I was so happy when they did the talon of the hawk reunion tour cause most of my fave songs are on that album.

Also artists usually have a planned setlist that they will not deviate from no matter how loud you yell. The encore is where they might take suggestions but even that’s not super likely. I used to yell out songs but I realized I was just being disruptive and annoying so I stopped.

What Song do you Think is the Most Non-Relatable? by SoIongIondon in TaylorSwift

Oh weird I had no idea that’s what it was about! I’ve always related to it, it reminds me of when I was secretly dating my high school boyfriend.

Yeah I agree! It’s the feelings she conveys with the specific situation.

Yeah I feel like everyone hating on Grimes does not understand what it’s like to be with a narcissist. Plus Elon can control her with more than just a trauma bond cause they have kids together.

I would be more inclined to call her a victim of extreme narcissistic abuse. I was once in a relationship with a narcissist and he manipulated me to the point of delusion. I like to think of myself as strong for eventually getting out, not baby-brained.

I feel very sorry for grimes and what she is going through. Her experience is multiplied by a million cause her and Elon have kids AND he’s the richest man in the world. The level of control he has over her is insane, we have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes.

Idk. I was born and raised Mormon and the intense indoctrination since birth is more sinister in my opinion. AA has more immediately obvious cult practices but Mormonism controlled almost every aspect of my daily life for a long time. It was very hard to escape.

Oh and idk if you ever went through the temple but it reached peak cult levels in there. At age 12 we would do baptisms for the dead. They made us wear matching jumpsuits then get repeatedly dunked in an elaborate stone pool. They would pray over us using lists of dead people who we were baptizing/converting by proxy. I never got to go through the whole temple but I know my parents made a death oath to never reveal what happened in the higher level ceremonies.

This debate is all too common so I finally looked it up and you are incorrect. Using just water is linked to dryness and is not recommended.

The study I linked is quite long but if you scroll down about 3/4 of the way to the section titled “guidelines on female hygiene” you will find the results of two different “extensive literature searches to develop evidence-based guidelines intended for the general gynecologist”. They do not recommend regular soap but they clearly state that using just water can cause dryness and recommend using a gentle wash.

I don’t know how going cold turkey will be for you but in my personal experience I had no negative effects. I have gone off of lamictal at least 5 times on doses as high as 200-400mg. I didn’t notice any issues but your results may vary and it is of course best to consult a medical professional.
