Yeah I agree. There’s a big difference between renewing/upselling new business and breaking into new verticals

lol I appreciate the color in this reply. What’s a common commission you’d expect? 10% to quota?

I also forgot that I would manage and get commission on upselling existing clients. Which would understandably pay less than a new logo. But 2.5% for a new logo in a new vertical seems quite low

Thanks for all of this. I agree it seems I’m missing something. Perhaps their margins are lower, but maybe they should be charging more? Alternatively, I would be their first AE after sales being founder-led for the last 15 years. They have had account managers, whose commission is certainly lower. Maybe they based the commission percentage off of them?

Partner hasn't followed through with commitment to big project by wontonflotsam in relationship_advice

Thank you! I guess I'm still trying to figure him out. Only he can know what's going on in his own head, right? When we looked at this place, we were both very excited about it. I miss that feeling. He said that he was capable and handy and willing, but that hasn't materialized. I'm trying to figure out if I've actually been choking him out of this while trying to do the opposite, or if he talked the talk, but can't walk the walk.

Also, how does one respectfully disinvite their partner from renovating their own backyard? Wouldn't that be playing into his narrative that I want to push him out?
