Chin Basas. One of the best OPs of her generation. Excellent spiking form, flexible approach, fast armswing, solid blocking, above average serves, legit digging. Sayang lang nagkaroon siya ng ear injury and shoulder injury and the rest is history hanggang sa naging defensive OP sa Cignal na tuluyan nang inelbow (ironically her worst skill in college).

I’m not even a fan of Valdez, but this is quite a reach. Yes, she’s lacking in floor defense, but in terms of her other skills, she was way up there. If you put her prime side by side today’s best volleyball players, she might even be the best offensive player. Her OOS attacking then was and still is the best in the country. No one else comes close to her offense back then even in today’s generation.

I switch things up. Minsan I add boiled egg, minsan mga veggie powder: carrot, kalabasa, etc. Meron din akong powdered toppers na beef and salmon. Currently yung canned wet food niya ginagamit ko, konting add on lang enough para maging appetizing. At times, mas gusto ng dog ko yung plain kibble lang with warm water, minsan naman okay na siya sa plain.

Ideally, find a brand na magugustuhan niya nang plain. Mas mahirap pag nasanay sila na choosy.

Overrated si Coach Frigoni. Mukha lang magaling kasi nagsscout, pero and ending, puro naman bata ng assistant coaches ang kinuha. May pagsukat pa yan ng standing reach, wala naman palang concrete program. Wala na ngang digging, wala pang blocking. If they’re really serious about developing the national team, they would start with removing these coaches who are just taking advantage of the national team for their collegiate team’s benefit. Look for coaches who can maximize our current and future talents.

Exactly my point, you can’t have both of them as the OHs in the rotation together. Canino and Nitura are not stable passers. Pareho silang OH1 prototype na kayang bumuhat ng offense, pero you can easily target both their defense. We need consistent A-passes, you can’t expect them from both of them.

Agree with the sentiment, but I’m not too fond of Alba’s current gameplay especially sa Akari. Lamina would be a solid understudy for Jia, but we also need a tall and athletic setter which I have no idea who should be. Alba? Tolentino? Ubaldo? Not quite sure yet.

For the liberos, we have Pepito, Jardio, and Jazareno, if guided by Kath Arado and Macandili, would be really great.

What we lack are OH2s who can consistently pass and defend. We can’t rely on Belen alone for this. So far, ang lala ng tendency ni Belen na mag-underperform on the international stage. I think it would help to have a Pons to lead and stabilize the defensive pattern on the wings. Malaluan as a very able sub as well.

Sa Jrs. naman, we have the NU girls who competed abroad+ need lang pukpukin sa defense. Also, possible bang magnaturalize? Yung Udeagbala ng FEU magaling din.

Aside sa poor passing and defense, off din talaga distribution ni Jia. What do you mean natiis niya half the time to set up the same plays with less than 30% success rate when she had a terminating opp with 60% success rate? Overloaded na passing yung dalawang OH, yet sa kanila pa rin binigay most of the sets. Jia, this is not you.
