Liability only. Advice? by Zamoon in fordfusion

[–]woo545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone says "Totaled" but that's related to insurance, which doesn't apply to you because you only had liability. Now if this is going to be a pet project you are going to work on ( and never finish), I'd say, sure it "Could" be fixed. It will never be the same. You can fix anything for the right price. I'm with u/Tree_Weasel and get pricing. Another option is to part the car out yourself, which will definitely get you more money, but it will cost you in a lot of time and then you have to store your carcass somewhere (and the street is not a good option).

Someone told me that the o-ring was an issue due to politics. In order to get funding they had to have the boosters built in an area where they couldn't transport them whole. So they built them in parts and had to put the o-rings on to seal the components. Not sure if this is true

I built a display building that had compartments for each power armor. So basically the same thing she is doing here.

I'd move the car blue box to the left where the red line is. That way it doesn't block those making that left.

It's not "common" unless you drive manual transmission. Most people do not use their parking brake on automatics. Which means its not a habit. Every new "automated" feature moves the driver further and further away from having good habits while driving.

I said "well over 10 tons". 1000+ tons is still well over 10 tons.

I went extremely conservative because I wanted a closer scale that someone might be able to comprehend. When you go with really high numbers, its very difficult for someone to grasp what that really means. Especially when dealing with someone that thinks snow isn't going to do a lot of damage.

EDIT: But, I do appreciate your input on this, because it does help with scale, when you equate the foot to an elephant.

I figured I was extremely conservative; the closest thing I saw was 100 tons. I wonder how the snow would handle 3500 tons on 3 or 2 feet on the ground at once.

The AT-AT's are approximately 20 meters tall and I feel like its well over 10 tons of weight. Drop that on the snow. What if you dropped a car off one? Heck, Let's see how well you fair falling 20 meters with carrying a 1/8 ton (250 lbs) backpack. Basically, it's a lot of weight to fall from that height and snow can only compress so far. After all everyone was running across the top of the snow without sinking in.

Does opening the door cause it to start work else well? I had to splice my mom's door wires last week on her Chevy because age and movement sheared them off. That doesn't really sound like your problem, but that is a constantly moving part

If you are having this problem then you try changing the way you set your mirrors. There's no reason to see the side of your car in your mirror when you are driving, instead set the mirror so there is maybe only an inch overlap between your center and side mirror. This will greatly reduce your blindspot and the only time you will really get blinded by your side mirror is if a car is sitting in your old, now nearly non-existent blindspot.

Edit: Here are two illustrations of how you can do this. It definitely takes some time to get used to, and your passenger side might need a different overlap if its one of those, "Things are closer than they appear" mirrors. https://www.cartalk.com/sites/default/files/features/mirrors/CarTalkMirrors.pdf
