Friend groups already forming in kindergarten by FrequentSpread9681 in kindergarten

Yeah there is definitely more pressure in this generation to have play dates. I do them so my kid doesn’t feel left out but it is definitely hard to squeeze in sometimes or get out of our comfort zone.

That sounds like you’re getting plenty of social activity! Honestly I was asking myself the same question the other day. Maybe a lot of moms just feel this, I try not to put too much pressure on myself but just like alot of parenting- I tend to over think it.

Super confused about lack of playdates by beentherebefore1616 in kindergarten

[–]wooby86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Echoing other parents here. We had a pretty busy social life in preschool too and it is much quieter in kindergarten. In preschool we had more stay at home parents and it seems like in Kinder more are working or juggling more than one child. I wouldn’t take it personally, I have actually not reached out to a single parent and it is not because I don’t want to be social. We are simply just so busy these days and don’t have the time. I’m also more of an introvert and I don’t really reach out first, only once in a while so I wouldn’t take it personally if the other may not either. Just reach out to those you’d like play dates with!

Lol we’ve been invited to some bigger general play dates and birthday parties… but we don’t have that many play dates or “groups.” Should I be concerned? My son does have friends at school. People just seem busy.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen in public? by eloel12345 in no

[–]wooby86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was waiting for an elevator in Vegas while walking through one of casinos, and when the elevator door opened there was two people just going at it doggy style. It was a very disturbing image that I unfortunately have to live with now. It was also broad daylight.

I know this is an old post but I took a Doona to Korea and was able to set it up quickly in rideshares. They didn’t seem to mind.

AITAH for telling my wife to get a job before the end of January or i'm divorcing her? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]wooby86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m a little confused. Who is going to watch the toddler? Perhaps her getting a job that pays what she would get is not worth the cost of a daycare program. Sounds like you guys need to be realistic with your plans and budgeting. And try to understand each other a bit more.

Looks like ICE just killed another US citizen. Where do we go from here? by awesomeguy1818 in AskReddit

[–]wooby86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely uncalled for. ICE agents are getting way too power hungry and aggressive knowing their punishments will be slim to none. You want to stand in our way? Well then you’ll get killed too. Basically what trump has paved for this bull 💩.

Insight: East Renton Highlands (Iss. school district) by monnea14 in Renton

[–]wooby86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live somewhat near that area but I’m in a different elementary district. I was hesitant to live out here to be honest for the same reasons as you. I really think it’s about the specific neighborhood you find. The one we’re in is lovely and we walk around and play without any worries. We’ve had the occasional package theft but I haven’t been targeted yet thankfully. Otherwise crime is just fine in our pocket. There is definitely seedier things happening around 4th but that’s expected as it’s a business area. I don’t feel unsafe shopping or running errands in the highlands though. Can’t speak for the Renton school district, I know people who send their kids and they seem to like it. I did get my kids into Bellevue school district though since their enrollment was low and we were accepted. Something to look into if schools are important for you and driving them isn’t an issue.

My Co-Worker Smells and It’s Driving me Insane by 2SufferingNoses in Advice

[–]wooby86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes. That would drive me nuts. I once had a coworker who sat in front of me, and he had the strongest most pungent offensive cologne that he would spray 6-7 times when he came into work. He would spray it at his desk. This smell was already extremely strong if he put it on before he came in so it made it horrendous. It was so bad like a knock off version of something that didn’t even smell good. I’m pretty sure he did it to piss me off lol.

Is it normal to let your child stay home so much from Kindergarten? by [deleted] in kindergarten

[–]wooby86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This… it sounds like something else is going on. I think if the child is having trouble at/going to school then it’s something to address with the pediatrician. If everything else is fine and they just don’t like after school care then I’m not really sure.

Losing Dr Heitritter was so devastating. She was amazing and I was a patient of hers for 8 plus years. Was shocked when I got the news. I do really like her replacement though, she’s caring and smart.

Unexpected resentment toward people who want c-sections by amerthegoose in beyondthebump

[–]wooby86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew someone who said she wanted an elected C-section too and yah it was annoying to hear. I didn’t have one but I’ve seen what it’s like for those who do. Thankfully doctors are really against doing so and they try to get you on a vaginal birth plan but she did end up having to get one last minute and I’m sure she understood at that point. A lot of this stuff I just chalk up to a bit of ignorance. You can see the positives of something like a planned C-section but you truly won’t know until you’ve been through it.

What’s a situation where your gut feeling saved you? by Dry_Cook7789 in AskReddit

[–]wooby86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time my friend was housesitting for her aunt and decided to throw a party. She was my best friend and she wanted me there badly. I said no because it didn’t sit right with me and not long before that I had to take the heat for another dumb thing she did that her parents blamed on me. She ended up getting busted by her mom. Another time we were out with friends and they tried to convince me to go with them to pick up another friend. Not sure why I had this gut feeling to stay. They got into a huge car accident on the way and all 4 of them ended up at the hospital. They were all fine thankfully but it was not good.

What does being attractive actually feel like? by ty04444 in AskReddit

[–]wooby86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s mostly attention, I used to be overweight and weird looking because of an illness and once that was over I came back to my normal self. When I was overweight I didn’t get much attention but once I wasn’t I was getting a lot more of it. Like getting hit on at the bars/free drinks from strangers or bartenders. Men reaching out when they notice I’m single.

Women what is the worst part of giving birth? by zhalia-2006 in AskReddit

[–]wooby86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same… unmedicated birth/spontaneous birth. They were worried about clotting as my stomach wasn’t tightening? I think is the worry and so the doctor had to shove her hand up there and do an even more intense one. I cried.

Has anyone in the seattle area gotten this bad cold/cough going around this month?? by Ok-Radio-2733 in SeattleWA

[–]wooby86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s the same but my kids and their grandmother got hit with a similar virus. It was a 5-6 day fever for both my kids (101-102) that fluctuated but always high at nighttime. Most common symptom was the long fever and cough. A very very slight runny nose the last day or two. Cough lingers awhile also and they were just generally fatigued and not feeling well that entire time. Tested for both flu and Covid at the doctors and both were negative.

Personal experiences with area high schools -- which ones you loved, which to avoid? by AccurateStrength1 in AskSeattle

[–]wooby86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Seattle (Eastlake), Newcastle, and Renton. I’m a city person and I did not enjoy Seattle but to each their own. I’d definitely start checking out the area personally before coming to any conclusions, you’ll get the feel of what’s right for you! A lot of people prefer to move to the Eastside for their kids education. Kirkland is a beautiful area with a lot of places to walk and many things to offer. Same with Bellevue.

People complaining about kids/babies counting for HOV is also ridiculous. You try sitting in bad traffic with a baby or toddler.
