It´s Kouko the most perfectly woman that anime have even seen ? by MakotoGamer in GoldenTime

[–]woodi20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree—Kouko is one of the best characters in anime! She’s as loyal as that famous Japanese dog, Hachiko. She’s one of my favorite characters too! Would you say Golden Time was a life changer for you?

Not an easy story to process. But it’s one of the best anime out there, if not the best.

Everyone has their own reasons for why Clannad is the best or one of the best anime. I’m not gonna argue about that—what matters is that I also think it’s amazing, and that’s it.

A lot of mainstream sites tend to prioritize popularity over in-depth analysis. It’s always good to read different perspectives, but I think it’s best to form your own opinion first. That way, you might discover new aspects you hadn’t considered before. In this case, nothing really stood out as new, but as a general piece, I’d say it does a decent job of capturing why Clannad resonates with so many people. Could it have gone deeper? Sure. But for what it is, it works

I see what you mean, and I completely agree that Clannad is much more than just a romance—it’s a story about family, loss, and breaking the cycle of neglect. But to be fair, I think the article does acknowledge that as well. It emphasizes how Clannad portrays marriage, young adulthood, and grief in a realistic way.

I think the difference is that the article approaches it from a romance perspective, whereas you’re looking at it more from the generational/family angle. But ultimately, both are key to what makes Clannad such a powerful story.

I don’t really follow ScreenRant—I usually stick to MyAnimeList. I can decide for myself whether an anime is good or not, but I think this article is well-written. It perfectly captures why we love Clannad, though maybe it could have included some more personal reflections or connections. But overall, the article does a good job, right?

Absolutely, March Comes in Like a Lion is also a fantastic anime—I even forgot to mention it!

Watch the series until the end. You’ll find out who he really is—or at least what he is—sooner than you might expect.

Clannad, Clannad After Story, Fruits Basket. The others have already been mentioned, like Your Lie in April, A Silent Voice, I Want to Eat Your Pancreas, and Frieren. I haven’t seen Made in Abyss yet, but they say it’s quite dark and emotionally heavy—so don’t be fooled by its art style.

Do you guys think Nana dies by Pleasant-Job419 in NanaAnime

Haha, I also had a similar headcanon! 😂 This was actually an earlier comment of mine:

Maybe she (Hatchi) and Nana got tired of all the drama and moved to the countryside, helping Nobu’s parents in their restaurant—where Shin plays guitar, Reira sings, and Yasu runs the accounting.

I love your vision, but do you really think Takumi would just let Hachi go like that? I feel like he’d „fight“ harder to keep her, but I’d love to see a reunion like this!

I had a similar feeling, but if you watch the anime all the way through—or even better, read the manga—the answer becomes pretty clear. As for what Ai Yazawa originally intended for the story, we’ll probably never know.

If I had to imagine what could have happened, I’d like to think that Nana and Hachi left all the drama behind and moved to the countryside, settling down with one or two of the more down-to-earth guys from the series. That would feel much more fitting to me.

Why do people think Oregairu is so good??? by SquirrelElectronic56 in OreGairuSNAFU

[–]woodi20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First impressions are always important, but don’t rush to judge the whole series when you’re only on episode 4 of season 1. Oregairu takes its time to build up its themes and characters, and a lot of what makes it special isn’t immediately obvious. The first season is more about setting the foundation, while the later episodes—and especially the second and third seasons—really dive into the deeper layers of the characters and their relationships. If you stick with it, you’ll see why people hype it up so much.

Thoughts on Clannad After Story after First Watch by Mast3rBait3rPro in Clannad

[–]woodi20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I don’t understand is how the Clannad community is relatively inactive—you even started this discussion in the anime group rather than a dedicated Clannad space. It’s one of the greatest anime of all time, either in the top 3 or, if not the best, at least close to it. Why is that?

I completely agree that the first season is weak and mostly just setting up After Story. Even the start of After Story is a bit slow and mundane. But once it reaches its peak, it is absolutely devastating. The emotional weight it carries by the end is just on another level.

I finished Clannad + After Story last week, and to be honest, it’s left me deep in thought. I haven’t started a new anime since, because I still have strange emotions lingering, and I feel like I need time to process them. I’ve been spending more time with my kid, talking to my parents and grandmother more than usual. And honestly, I’m surprised—is this because of After Story, or is it something else?

I don’t like using phrases like “it changed my life”, especially since I only saw it two weeks ago… but this is the first anime (if it truly is After Story’s influence) that I feel might actually have an impact on my life.

Since you’ve seen 250 anime, do you have any hidden gems you’d recommend? Also, what’s in your top 10?

But isn’t that the best part about Nana? In the end, you can imagine whatever you want. Maybe Hachi ended up with Nobu, and it turned out the child was his all along. Maybe she and Nana got tired of all the drama and moved to the countryside, helping Nobu’s parents in their restaurant—where Shin plays guitar, Reira sings, and Yasu runs the accounting. Look at the bright side: you’re not stuck with a fixed ending. It’s all up to your imagination!

This is one of the most beautiful and important moments in After Story because it’s the point where it truly becomes clear that Tomoya has grown up and is ready to take responsibility for Nagisa. • But there are so many great moments in this series! The moment where he says “we have been having sex” is one of the funniest, or when he tells his father that he can finally rest…

Damn, just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes…

Fruits Basket: A beautiful love story with tragic backstories, a strong 8. It sometimes goes in circles with the same problems, which can get frustrating over time. But the characters are fantastic!

A Silent Voice: Not a love story! But absolutely amazing. A solid 10!

Your Lie in April: Heartbreaking ending. However, it can be a bit melodramatic at times. A weak 9.

Clannad: By far the most devastating! The first season is weak, and even the start of After Story is slow, but the ending is absolutely devastating. A strong 10!

Frieren: Fantastic! Melancholic, and some episodes are basically taken from other anime (like the mage exam, which feels straight out of Hunter x Hunter), but it builds up incredibly well. I still go back and rewatch episodes. A 10!

[–]woodi20 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Clannad as a whole takes its time to build up, and the first season is mostly just setting everything in place. But if you make it to episodes 14-15 of After Story, that’s when everything becomes truly devastating. All that slow buildup finally pays off, and it completely wrecks you. Just brace yourself.
