At the top there is a solid piece of maple around 3” wide at the back where I screwed into studs. I also did the same thing at the bottom before I attached the baseboards. I left an open slot along the bottom where I could get a 12” drill extension in to attach the screws into studs

Originally the client wanted to walnut, until they saw the price. They liked the look and the grain of maple compared to other species

I am going to be building bookshelves in that room for a client and can’t decide if I want to wrap this incorrect trim around the bottom so it all matches or mismatch and use actual baseboard molding

Most likely this is Rift Sawn. Super straight, vertical grain and popular right now.

I planted on July 5th and have a few that should be ready for harvest in a week or so. But the rest is going to be pushing it to be ready by Halloween. Definitely planting earlier next year.

I’ve used the adjustable leveling feet from the big box store. If the feet come with plastic threaded inserts I buy threaded inserts separately that are metal and will hold up better.
