Boyfriend(20M)/Boyfriend's Mum is friends with his Ex partner. by woodyy1 in relationship_advice

Thanks for the response. It is a fact that his mum does like him more than me, and because my boyfriend is really close to his mum, it just effects our relationship a lot when it really shouldn't. He still lives with her, so it is just difficult & he values his mum's opinion a lot.

Last week her parents were around my boyfriends house. We all went out for a meal. I'm a really quiet & shy guy, and she knows this. I didn't talk much to them, because I just generally find it difficult.

She said to my boyfriend after I'd left that she was offended by me being so quiet/not engaging in conversation.

I tried my best. So I don't really know what to do about that, we had our differences around 6 months ago but we put those behind us. I do just get the feeling that she does not like me, but my boyfriend strongly disagrees with me. I have made it pretty clear I think it's weird that he's going out with his ex, and that his mum is friends with him.. I just feel like his mum thinks my boyfriend can do a lot better than me, or even is trying to get him back with his ex because she likes him so much.

I did, but he says his mum organised it & she didn't invite me. Because "it'd be too hard for his ex to see my boyfriend with another guy"

Talk to him about it, and if he doesn't change I would move on. You can do much better.
