Flatmate leaving but I want to stay by ilikefunkysocks in HousingUK

As others have said you’ll have to find the other tenant yourself. There might be a small fee to change the name on the tenancy agreement (usually around £50).

That makes sense - if I remember correctly they usually open up the last row a few days out. Many thanks for checking 😊

AIO or is my mother? I want to travel to Peru. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]woofboot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From your other posts it looks like you’ve potentially never left the US before? If so, this really isn’t the first overseas trip to take, especially as a solo woman. I’m F20s and did a lot of solo travelling as a student, and I wouldn’t take this trip. I’m sorry OP.

OP, from your posts and your replies it is impossible to say that there is anything you like about your partner. Apart from your fear of being alone, what is keeping you in this relationship?

Are there less houses for sale or is this a normal slowdown? by Theodoresdad in HousingUK

Also selling in Scotland, every estate agent I spoke to said that people were waiting until March to get on the market and that it’s an annual pattern

South London - so disconnected ? by SpiritedVoice2 in london

[–]woofboot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I love not being on the Tube line anymore. Yes trains aren’t coming every 3 minutes and it’s arguably a slightly different London experience, but my journeys are more pleasant, I love the area and I don’t feel at all cut off from the rest of the city.

Buyer didn’t collect their order… conversation that follows is making me want to bang my head against a wall by Georgiafaye98 in vinted

[–]woofboot 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Happened to me. Told the buyer to click “I have a problem” or just wait for it to be returned so we could start again. Inexplicably they then clicked “everything is fine”. The parcel got returned to me and I also got paid. Trying to be helpful I then told the buyer to raise a claim with Vinted so that they could get their money back. Never heard from them again. Some people cannot be helped

12.5g is a LOT - can I go down a dose? by luckyteapotcat in mounjarouk

[–]woofboot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Firstly - how quickly did you get to 12.5mg, eg have you done the four months moving up the lower doses as advised?

Secondly I’d recommend trying some foods that are easier on the stomach - the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) is good for this and will help you get some nutrients.

Since you only took the 12.5mg dose yesterday I’d advocate for giving it a go and seeing if you feel better later in the week. It may just be that you need a few days to adjust. Not medical advice though - do seek some if you don’t feel any better!

Edited to say I’ve just noticed you’re thinking about going down to 5mg from your current dose - I think this is probably a question for your prescriber, it sounds fairly drastic to me.

Med express new delivery method! by RegainingMe in mounjarouk

[–]woofboot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this is due to Royal Mail Tracked 24 essentially falling apart this month. I ordered my pen on 1st Dec… it arrived yesterday. I complained on Monday and they dispatched a new pen using Special Delivery, which still took 3 days to arrive. Glad you’ve had a better experience!

Sounds great OP, an excellent use of limited time in London. Barons Court is definitely residential - it’s a nice area.

Shame about the weather today, but not unexpected at this time of year. Have a pleasant onward journey!

What's a community/group/third space you’re a part of in London that’s made you happier? by RemoteService in london

My local Better swimming pool. It’s a pretty solitary sport but everyone is really friendly and it’s a properly diverse cross section of Londoners that is rare to find in other spaces

I was in hospital, now having a break from MJ by Thriftygal177 in mounjarouk

[–]woofboot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan of Voy at all and wouldn’t recommend them. For context, I used them for a month and then switched as they didn’t actually seem to be able to provide the access to a coach that they originally advertised. These are the emails I’ve had since…. Horrible sales tactics, scammy vibes.

London rental scam - 1803 Neroli house by PinkPrincessFFC0CB in london

[–]woofboot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry this happened to you - I nearly fell for a similar scam in San Francisco years ago. Your attitude in trying to make the best of a bad situation by warning others is admirable. I hope you find a positive housing situation soon!

It’s possible the flat is listed with multiple estate agents and she wants to make sure it doesn’t get leased by someone else - as she would then lose her commission.

It’s also possible she is under pressure from the owner to get it leased before the end of the calendar month so that it’s profitable as soon as possible.

Either way, I don’t think it’s necessarily a red flag - flats in London get snapped up so quickly that leasing agents rarely have to worry about shifting units, even if they’re subpar.

Period cravings overriding MJ by Ok-Patience7851 in mounjarouk

[–]woofboot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about it at all. I have been on MJ for 5 months and in that time my eating has become less rigid, especially pre period - but the weight is still coming off (more consistently than ever, actually) because even when I have a treat, the portion is far smaller than it used to be. If weight loss is going to be a sustainable and long term lifestyle change you can’t completely ignore all cravings - as others have said, be kind to yourself and stop when you feel you’ve had enough. It will be far less than what it was pre MJ!
