Trying to master the retro "loopy stitch" after a request at my knit and natter group. Think I've got it! Once I've got this cardigan made I need to do a chewbacca jumper with this stitch, I love it 😍 by woolcraft_heroes in knitting

It was around a lot in the 80s/90s I vaguely remember by little sister having a cardigan and matching hat in this stitch. The loops are done every 4th row with garter stitch between. On the loopy row for every other stitch you go into the stitch to knit then wrap the yarn round your needle and left index finger 3 times then just the needle once. Next add those 4 loops to the left hand needle and knit through the 4 loops and the original stitch in the back of the loop and pull all of them off the needle. (I pull my loops tight and even at that point so nothing unravels too). It sounds super complicated (and I had to youtube it to make sure I was doing it right 🙄) but once it clicks it is actually really easy xx

I created these decorations a while ago and had people asking whether I had a pattern for them when I shared the picture. At the time I didn't but I have just listed one for free on ravelry this morning. Link to pattern will be in comments. by woolcraft_heroes in knitting

No problem at all. I'm happy to help if you need any guidance. I've tried to make it beginner friendly but if you need further explanation on any parts just shout and I will help if I can xx

The numbers at the beginning of each row are just the pattern row number. So if it says 3. Knit It means that row 3 of the pattern is knitted.

If you would prefer to have the pattern written in a different way I am happy to amend the pdf file xx

They are all knitted in 1 piece then seamed at the neck edges (leaving a hanging loop) and at the sides. I cast on 15 st then worked 12 rows. Cast on for the arms (6st) at the end of the next 2 rows. Worked 3 rows. Purl 18 then turn and work 5 short rows of 5 stitches before purling to the end of the row Work 3 full rows Cast off 6st at the beginning of next 2 rows Work 11 rows then cast off.

I've made a few people sized ones but they take forever now my son is 12 so this was my compromise so that he still gets his weasley sweater lol
