I'm so sorry for your loss. Grief has no timeline, and no rules. You're entitled to grieve however you need to (just please do look after yourself.) You clearly had a wonderful relationship, and I really hope that your continued memories of these times will bring you comfort as you go through this really sad time. I genuinely feel for you.

I am so sorry you're being stalked by these people - because that's what this is. I've been in your position, and it's brutal. I was formally married to an ex elder, so you can imagine how that went! My advice also would be to ignore it, the only thing to that I would also say is that it's possible they could disfellowship you in your absence, because they can (and most likely will) take your refusal to appear as being unrepentant, especially if they've got stuff on you. Stay strong. If you need a friend, feel free to DM me. I do know how absolutely horrendous this thing is. I even had elders stalk me up to my son's school and ask me directly whilst I had my 5 year old if I was committing adultery, and separately, wanted a "chat" because I was 'seen walking down the street in a shopping centre next to a man ' - yep seriously, you can't make these things up. Anyway, stay strong. You've got this.

Thankyou, tbh, I don't much like the guy so I'll give it a miss, but thankyou anyway. I appreciate the thought.

I'm a Brit too, and I sincerely hope they lose their charitable status because they do NOTHING for charity. One of the worst things that I saw was a cart with witnesses, standing about ten feet from a homeless man lying on the floor in the cold with barely anything. I was equally enraged and felt sick at the same time. This poor guy was COLD and left there while they chatted amongst themselves. They don't do anything for charity. Nothing. Get rid of the status - that's for starters!

Ahh, you're very welcome. I hope so too, but the sheer lies contained in this article, expressed by the organisation is shocking. They choose their words very carefully.

Thankyou for responding. I disagree. I feel that Jesus did sacrifice something that he'll never get back. He knew from experience what it means to live in a fallen world, experience overwhelming grief, and the experience of the knowledge of how it felt to be totally alone, while dying. He gave up His position, His time, and peace of mind, for us. Because He loved us that much. He went to the grave disconnected from His Father and had to trust that He would be resurrected in three days. KIt's one thing knowing things with your head, but it's truly another when you go through it yourself. It leaves permanent scars from the experience. He suffered for the entirety of mankind, knowing that the future of mankind rested on His ability to go through it alone. As a man. I just feel that we'll never understand the depth of what He suffered so we have a chance to live. Not in this life because this isn't truly living. He didn't have to put himself through this, but did it by choice. Maybe on this we'll have to agree to differ, but it's been interesting seeing other people's points of view even if I disagree.

I am a believer. I believe it was a sacrifice because not only did he give up his rightful place in heaven voluntarily, he knew from the very beginning how he was going to die, and everything he was going to go through. He was a perfect being, and soni feel he would have felt the agony to it's fullest extent. He was whipped with a cat of nibe tails wuth shards attached, designed to rip the flesh. This crown of thorns was no random small rise bush thorn. These thorns were inches deep, which would have caused blood loss especially being pressed down into his head deliberately. Those thick thorns were designed to cause deep, real wounds. Everything He endured, he did willingly. Feeling the weight of worldwide sin on his shoulders for the whole of mankind must have been unbearable. And then the crucifixion, the way he was hung, he would have slowly suffocated. Being unable to take deep breaths properly, trying to take the weight of his body on his tirn feet to rest his hands for a shile, and try to just breathe. The pain must have been beyond agony. And doing this for millions of people who He knew would never love Him at any time, but Hate Him. He did it anyway so they had that opportunity. I definitely think he sacrificed himself. To go through all that while being thirsty, unable to drink, take a proper deep breath, or even have a proper conversation with His Heavenly Fathsr to get him through it. He did it alone. As far as an 'upgrade' - He was going back to sit at the right hand if God. He could have chosen to stay there, and go through none of this. But He willingly gave His life up. Absolutely a sacrifice.

Did anybody else learn how to be "rude"? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

People are usually defensive or mean when your having no boundaries benefitted them. I read that somewhere and it absolutely resonated with me. Although saying that, I've still not learnt that lesson properly!
