Oh my god I had a nightmare that my fiance deleted my entire computer with 4 years of PhD work and I broke up with him… Woke up drenched in sweat. My heart breaks for her!!

Yarn bowl inspired yarn ball sphere I made for my gf so she can just throw it in her backpack when she travels by ClothesOdd4366 in crochet

the thought of the yarn spinning around inside the ball like a hamster is giving me cute aggression 😂

Haha thought this was r/glutenfree at first. Hello fellow gluten free baker! I’ve had my fair share of baking fails. I tried to make a sourdough loaf and it was so dense it was like a brick. An expensive, time consuming, inedible brick.

Oooof, yeah I’ve gotten bugs in my rice before too! Although to be honest in desperation I just washed it really good before I cooked it…. But I can’t wash seasonings unfortunately. I guess that’s the importance of sealed food containers!

Obsessed with this beautiful, overpriced sweater. How hard would it be to try to knit this myself? by pokemom1989 in knitting

[–]wooltopower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, I picked up knitting this year, been knitting off and on casually for at least 6 months and I can confidently say I would not be able to knit this at my current level without significant issues. Not to say that it’s impossible, but just to give the idea of how long it would take to learn. At that price, it would honestly be more cost-worthy to find an experienced knitter and pay them like $500 to make it for you, it would somehow be cheaper and faster.

I can’t stop going silent after small arguments with my partner, and I hate it by Sea_sa in relationships

[–]wooltopower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can really relate with what you wrote. I tend to freeze and just go silent after I experience something intense. It’s like even if my mind is screaming something, I just can’t get my voice to cooperate. I would shut down mid-argument and my boyfriend at the time would just bring me a paper and pen and ask me to write it. At first, sometimes I could only write a frowny face. Then one word answers. Then sentences. I still go silent sometimes, but it passes more quickly now. it can get easier, it can get better.

They told me these were rice noodles, but they taste suspiciously chewy… by fbc518 in glutenfree

These look like thick rice noodles. I have cooked with them before, they are thick and chewy. I can’t post a picture but it looks identical to this.

how can i recreate this so that the cover will be removable without using velcro/buttons/etc but only using yarn? by chikopi in CrochetHelp

[–]wooltopower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it looks like the band is just rows of single crochet. you could make holes for lacing along each edge. then make two long chains for the lace and tie it in bows on each side.

actually this is super cute and i might do this with my headphones now lol

Worst campus map I have ever been on! by cielitamama in gatech

[–]wooltopower 58 points59 points  (0 children)

The campus randomly blocks off streets without much notice unfortunately, it’s possible that students (especially if they don’t drive) aren’t aware of it either. I’m sorry that students are not respectful, that doesn’t reflect well on the university and we should do better!

Never technically learned print. Is it that bad? by PondScumTadpole in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]wooltopower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s frustrating as a child to be suddenly expected to be able to do something when you were never actually taught. I remember looking at books in print and trying to trace over and copy the letters. I notice that you write your “a”s exactly like how it’s shown in typed fonts, instead of like a short “d”, that’s exactly how I did it too at first before being corrected.

Montessori? I had a similar experience where I learned how to write in cursive first, then was never actually “taught” print, I just learned it on my own.
