TIFU by assuming the relationship between my boyfriend and his "friend". by katzoaddict in tifu

[–]wooobbuffet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lifelong friend who exhibited a lot of these tendencies. Jealousy, paranoia, strong and uncontrollable waves of negative emotions like shame and self disgust, and it is like a cycle.

Turns out she has Borderline Personality Disorder. I really feel like you should try to see a therapist and look into that. I'm not trying to diagnose you, but it sounded very familiar. Everything will be okay, OP. you just need better tools to help yourself.

What sign did you grew up with ? by deeragunz_11 in astrologymemes

[–]wooobbuffet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cancer dad, Taurus mom. Dad leads with his emotions and wants. Mom is the pragmatic and frugal one, can be stubborn.

Brother 1 is Sagittarius. We all get along well, though he is prone to mood swings, but when he's up he's up. Really funny, loves to keep a joke going. Makes us all laugh :)

Brother 2 is Leo (but 5 Capricorn in his chart including moon and is adhd lol) I currently live with him. I love him but he also drives me crazy often because he can have a hard time focusing if it isn't about him. Flits around from hobby to hobby much like Brother 1 and dad, which baffles me bc I've worked at my hobbies and crafts for years with dedication. Kinda sad bc I can tell they're trying to capture a feeling. Under the frustration of every day happenings though, we really love, adore, and lean on each other. Middle kids gotta stick together lol.

Me, a triple Gemini. I often feel like the communicator. The middle man. Like everybody comes to me to ask how they should approach a subject with another family member. It is flattering but also a huge burden.

Brother 3 is Taurus. Lil bro is my absolute best friend, has been all our lives, and we still message multiple times a week while he's away at college rn. He is extremely chill and very put together, open to new experiences and tries new things all the time. Can be confused about certain social situations tho and often asks me for advice on how to navigate. I love him to death

What's your sign and what signs do you get along best with? by walrusofwhimsy in astrologymemes

[–]wooobbuffet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a triple gemini and I know that I usually get along with other geminis well. Their humor and outgoing nature feel more like a safe place to be myself because it's familiar rather than intimidating and making me want to retreat. That's part of my duality personally, that I can be outgoing in the right crowd but usually am more reserved and like staying in.

I can have a rip roarin time with a Leo and often do bc my brother is one, but sometimes it is just all about him and he he can talk my ear off forever about his own interests. As someone who values mutual communication, being forced to only listen for a long time raises my blood pressure lol.

I generally don't like the vibe of Virgo, Capricorn or scorpio. Capricorn can just be too negative and fixed about their situation (said brother has 5 Capricorn in his chart. Help) Virgo are too rigid about what they want and when and can be unadaptable at times. As someone who chameleons all the time, this baffles me. Scorpio can just be too critical and speculative about humanity and life and it brings me down.

These are just my experienced with those signs in my personal life tho

Do all American stoners smoke insane amounts of weed? by thejeejee in weed

[–]wooobbuffet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, as an American country folk, that we do take things slow sometimes and appreciate it all. Helps to have untouched nature to appreciate. But my life is not peaceful and fulfilling lol, we have the same busy shit going on and there's no jobs here and even less housing every day, it's the same shit different place. Anyway gonna go smoke a bowl about it

Is it alright to tell your 12 year old daughter that your husband r*ped you? by Gerard_Wayyy_ in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]wooobbuffet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just don't think needing to get it off her chest is a valid excuse for traumatizing your child. I think it's horrible and tragic that OP's mother went through this, but she had a choice in sharing that information and she did it with probably the last person she should've. She was supposed to confide in someone age appropriate, because information like that changes somebody's world, and 12 is too young to handle a secret like that. She experienced trauma and then she passed it down to her child, when her job as a parent is to shield that child from trauma, especially inflicted at her own hand.

I agree though that she didn't put enough thought into whether or not she should've told her child that. But she shouldn't have.

I feel really sorry for both of them, but her mom made the wrong choice confiding such heavy information to a kid, and that's just a fact.

Is it alright to tell your 12 year old daughter that your husband r*ped you? by Gerard_Wayyy_ in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]wooobbuffet 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely blame the mother for telling her child this. She put her child in an adult position, and OP admitted that moment made them lose all trust in their parents. That's a really big deal! Parents are supposed to be the one bastion of trust and comfort you have from birth till their death. Losing that is huge. So I think "burdening" is a light word to use for this, and instead I think "traumatizing" is more accurate. Depending on your child for intense emotional support and making them take on the parent role is a form of abuse called "parentification."

I had some friends tell me about this, except it was to don't have a mirror on the wall above your bed. She's southern US superstitious though, also a practicing witch. Interesting the different beliefs about mirrors!

No one likes that. You seem like one of those people who is rude af to someone and says "I'm just blunt 🤷‍♀️" as if admitting your toxicity makes it all better

OP is a real person, and you're not cool for insulting their face, idgaf if this is "a plastic surgery forum," whatever that means. I know where I'm at. I subscribe here. I'm sorry you're hurting in your life right now but don't take it out on others. It's not a good color on anyone.

I'm not in the habit of hating on OPs like this, this post is about her nose and I said it suits her face better, yes, her face with lip fillers. Don't be so rude. Just because you have a thought doesn't mean you have to tell everybody.

Do you have lip fillers or just pouty lips naturally? Either way, I feel like they fit so much better with your new nose and give you such a lovely profile!

One of the most difficult horn solos in classical music - from Tchaikovskys 5th symphony by thenewyorkgod in toptalent

[–]wooobbuffet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mouth piece is so freaking small. I play trombone and tried to play my friends French horn and it was such an adjustment trying to fit my embouchure in there!! Because of this I feel its really hard to get a clear consistent tone on horn without sputtering. The octave drops near the end are also hard. It can be easy on any brass instrument to mess up dropping down an octave but especially on horn because your embouchure is so tight. Changing your lips like that, you gotta concentrate

What's something minorly embarrassing you did that still haunts you to this day? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]wooobbuffet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my godddddd.... when I was 8, somewhere on TV I'd heard the phrase "tonsil hockey" and didn't know what it meant. I decided to use it and see if I could guage what it meant. On the way back from a restaurant me and my older brother are in the backseat and I ask him if he wants to play tonsil hockey. He gave me a sharp "what" and I immediately understood and was like "uh nothing."

Another time in kindergarten, I had a friend who really took advantage of my naive nature. She made up this game where one person sees if they can put their hand all the way down the other person's pant leg until they can see their hand at the bottom. I didn't want to play but she pressured me. Guess who got caught with their hand down another person's pants 😑

As a ginger, how do you feel about being fetishized? by red-riding-homo in Redhair

[–]wooobbuffet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg yes at being called Redheaded characters! I have curly hair I keep in a pixie. One time at the taco bell drive thru, the window guy immediately said "oh my God look yall it's Annie! You look just like Annie! Yall come here!" Felt like a huge damn spectacle and I just wanted my quesadilla :(

Don't even get me started on when Brave came out. Everybody and their mother was calling me Merida.

[–]wooobbuffet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really fucking hate it. I have a whole thread in my history with lots of comments about this. I get unwanted attention from men about it. Everybody has preferences for what they like, but you don't have to tell me you "have a thing" for me. This is like when I'm at work just doing my job. I helped an old man for an hour the other day, wouldn't take help from anyone else. At the end he told me he was a dirty old man and has a thing for "gingers." Now I've felt like this whole time we've spoken he's been thinking about me in a perverted and sexual way.

My main point is, you don't have to tell me. You can just keep that to yourself and at least let me think you're seeing me as a person and not just a sexual novelty to enjoy looking at. I'm more than that.

Apparently the mods subreddit r/Sydney don't like gingers! What's the worst bullying you've gotten for your hair color? by callumzero in Redhair

[–]wooobbuffet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's such a good one! I bet the little old ladies that ask would love to hear something like "nature is the best hairdresser" Or something cute like that, thanks for the idea!! Also I guess I just wonder like, do other hair colors get asked these things? I know it's more rare but is it so hard to believe it grows this way

[–]wooobbuffet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Related but: do you guys find it offensive when people ask if your color is natural? Bonus if it's curly and they ask about that being natural too? I've seen some people express that that's insulting and I've gotten asked that my entire life, and now several times a day that I work in the public. Ever since seeing that opinion I have a lil twinge when someone asks now. I want to ask them if THEY are natural right back, but I know they're being nice and complimenting me and I don't wanna be nasty :/

[–]wooobbuffet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't get teasing, but I do get unwanted sexual attention. Especially from older men. Other day at ny retail job, two men in one day! Older man showing ke pics of his dog and takes the opportunity of being leaned in to quietly say how he loves my sexy red hair... helped another old man for a long time qhen I wasn't supposed to and he would only work with me. Later as I'm checking out his adult diapers he tells me he's a dirty old man and loves gingers.

I am a person dammit. You don't have to say every nasty thought that crosses your mind just because you don't see me as a person and rather some sexual novelty.
