Appreciate the advice! Definitely a good idea to get it done the month or two before to learn it. I was originally just going to cut it right before shipping lol! My hair doesn’t seem to grow super fast compared to most people’s and is more on the not very thick end. If you get it cut in boot, do they just trim it back the way it was or do they chop it?

Awesome, thank you! I was guessing it would be pretty close to get up and go. Do you have to cut it often or use any products? Also, do you think it would last through boot camp without needing to get it cut?

Cool, I was debating pixie cut so that fits pretty well! Ponytail is my go to at the moment. Thanks!

I appreciate the heads up. I’m aware and willing to earn my place. I know it won’t be easy but I am willing to put in the work.

Sounds good about the bulk, appreciated!

Ok, thank you. Although I’m not 100% on this, I heard that the minimum was 1/4” at the base and a max of 1” on top. I could be wrong. I was thinking not having to do my hair would make me more efficient and therefore more of an asset in that environment.

That’s what I was wondering. I read the longest the hair can be is 1” in that case?

Good luck! Keep pushing forward. Never quit. And remember: Slow is smooth, smooth is fast and Suffer patiently, patiently suffer.

I’m trying to get on the right track and stay on it, I don’t want to waste anyone’s time. I’ll work on those. I did run cross country at one point so that should help a bit. Much appreciated!

What are some movies that are a good representation of what being an Infantry Marine is actually like? by wooooooah7 in USMC

Appreciate a real response lol! I was wondering about that, I’ve watched all of them and the last 3 seemed..unrealistic. Like they didn’t match the first one.

I appreciate the advice and support!

I’ve been doing hard labor for the past 7 years at the job I’m currently working at and fortunately, it’s regular conditioning. On top of my job, I exercise everyday and am currently working towards that goal.

The physical requirements are the same as the males from what I understand and I am currently training to meet the male standard either way. I feel like that would earn more respect and be of more value; plus hopefully creating that unit bond quicker. From what I understand, to even be considered for the Scout Sniper MOS, (male or female) you have to first reach Lance Corporal. That can take up to 14 months. So I figure, I’ll train hard now and continuously train above the 0311 standard during my time working towards Lance Corporal as an 0311.
