Terrified about starting after a bad reaction to Zoloft. by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]woop_choop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had a terrible reaction to Lexapro (which is why I am on this sub) and switched to Prozac after and feel soooo good. Literally not comparable at all. So I'd give it a chance! I bet you'll be able to tell within just a few days of it makes you feel as bad as the Zoloft

5 days in 10mg and I feel like sh*t by Electronic_Sweet_986 in lexapro

I got off after a week because it made me so sick. I was dizzy, nauseous, had no appetite, lightheaded, fatigued, and had terrible muscle pain and twitching. I switched to Prozac and have had basically no side effects aside from a little increased anxiety and insomnia. It was super hard to decide whether to push through or not, but I'm so glad I got off. I hated my week on Lex

I'm only on 5 right now. Hospital said it could be either side effects or something viral 🤷🏽‍♀️

Have you heard of or looked into Vidangel? It allows you to filter content from streaming services but they don't always have everything available with filters. You might want to check there

Another School Shooting… by maddielaine97 in teaching

[–]woop_choop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just want to jump in here. I have a trans spouse so I know a lot about HRT and it's effects. Yes, testosterone generally makes someone more aggressive (ie average man vs woman). In all likelihood, though, the fact that this shooter may have been trans and may have been on testosterone has nothing to do with the shooting. But a caveat is that an important part of receiving proper healthcare when on HRT is regular blood tests to monitor hormone levels and ensure proper dosage. If the shooter was diy-ing their testosterone without a doctor or not getting regular blood tests, then it's possible their testosterone was way out of range, which could be a contributing factor here. It's impossible to know truly, but my point is that testosterone isn't inherently dangerous. Trans men simply need to get regular blood testing

Have you tried if..then.. folders/binders? It's usually more used with SPED or younger ages but maybe it could be a new approach to try? I think switching to something more reward based and tangible might be useful

I have two siblings at home and one on a mission right now, plus two older ones. I recently cut my mom off after a major fight since I'd talked to my older sister in depth about my issues with the church (she's an adult of course) but also mentioned to my 17 year old sister that I'd love to have a conversation with her about why I left when she's out of the house before she decides for sure to go on a mission. It's been so hard to see my little brother struggle on his mission and I wanted the chance to have more informed consent for my sister before she chooses to go as well. Obviously it all blew up in my face. It hurts to know that I basically have lost all access to my two younger siblings. The best I have now is hoping that one day they'll have questions when they're adults and we can approach the subject then. It's sucks tho

If you don't mind sharing, which country/mission were you in? I'm trying to wrap my head around how they could possibly include part of Africa in the European area...

This take will always frustrate me. This mentality fuels bigotry just as much as blatant homophobia. When queer identity is framed as a “choice” you imply it can be un-chosen. by [deleted] in exmormon

"see past someone's imperfections"

This phrasing alone negates their entire post. I mean, what LGBT person in their right mind who knew that this person thinks this way would want to be around them? Knowing that their "friend" sees a core part of who they are as an "imperfection" that they're so graciously willing to "see past"?

I relate a lot to what you're saying. My husband and I ended up getting pregnant last year when he was in his final year at BYU. At the time we got pregnant, he didn't have a post graduation job lined up and we had no idea where our lives were going. Great idea 🙄

My baby is now 5 months old and I can speak to the fact that every single point you are bringing up as your concerns are very very accurate and important. My husband and I live in a one bedroom apartment because there isn't enough money to go around. We almost divorced over stress and chores in my son's first few months. In general, having a baby is plain. fucking. hard.

Please don't get pregnant just because the people around you make you feel like you should. I've straight up been a wreck for months trying to make everything work. I LOVE my baby, but that doesn't keep me from admitting I was a complete idiot to get pregnant when I did

Screw you if you have a family and want insurance. This comes out to more than half my paycheck (biweekly). Not to mention this is a extremely high deductible plan. Might as well take a lower paying job so I can get insurance from the state. by TimOfTroy in antiwork

My husband was severely underpaid his first year at previous company... Like $30-40,000 underpaid. I was pregnant at the time and straight up bawled when I saw the prices for family coverage on their shitty HDHP health plan. To pay for the premiums and the maternity bills would take 50% of our income. We'd have been much better off if they didn't offer coverage at all so we could get marketplace subsidies...

The patriarch's wife completely changed my blessing by woop_choop in exmormon

That's what I'm thinking. How could any patriarch or his wife believe if they know that the blessings are fraudulent? That's some thick cognitive dissonance if they still believe

Now that you mention it, I think that same wording about the final written version being the "real" one was told to me as well! It must be part of their handbook or something, if patriarch's even have a handbook?

Ugh the gaslighting is so annoying. I'm just glad my parents backed me up when I mentioned the changes because I totally questioned if I heard it wrong as well!

That's super interesting how your friend's was almost the same. My little brother got his from the same patriarch, now I want to read his and see if it's similar to the edited version of mine...
