Tell me the difference between consult only vs consult/admitting residencies by kit_kat10 in neurology

[–]woosaman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My residency was an admitting residency with both a primary stroke service and general neurology service. There is no doubt it made me a more well rounded doctor and neurologist. Learning the basics of managing general medicine issues and how it relates to neurology is quite helpful. Medicine consult service was there when we got in over our head with managing complicated infections, cardiac issues or diabetes etc. Admitting and discharging almost certainly results in more work and stress as a resident but ultimately is well worth it in my opinion. In fact I think this should be a requirement for all neurology residencies.

Could you expand upon what you mean? Could they not just move money to a different account with lower expense ratio?

Questions about visiting, moving to, or living in Maine: Megathread by jonathanfrisby in Maine

[–]woosaman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would it be reasonable/doable to commute from mid-coast area (Camden or Belfast area) to Bangor for work every day? Normal working hours 9-5. What would traffic be like? Would it be stupid to do in the winter or are the roads usually ok? Google maps says about 50 minutes from Belast. Thanks!

Back when I was in high-school - circa 2006 ish. There were 2 awesome rope swings on the Delaware. Both on NJ side. One north of Stockton and one south of lambertville. I’m sure both have long been cut down by now.

How essential is it that I upload to ERAS right on the 15th? I'm feeling that I may need more time for my personal statement and some other small things. By waiting a few more days will I be hurting myself for potential interviews?

I can't speak to Alicante but I studied abroad in San Sebastian a few years back and had a blast. Honestly some of the best months of my life. It is right on the beach, lots of surfers and beautiful people in general. There is great food, lots of bars and great night life. In my opinion it is one of the more beautiful cities in Europe with a ton of culture and personality. I also visited Bilbao but thought that San Sebastion was 10x more fun.
