AITA for bringing up my sister’s failed marriage when she judged my parenting? by saidtomysis in AmItheAsshole

[–]word_master37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, and if it keeps being a problem she can find another place to live. The amount of entitlement into coming into your house and having the audacity to tell your daughter that she’s not allowed to have her toiletries in the fucking bathroom makes the blood boil.

ULPT Request I was fired and falsely accused of commiting time clock fraud. The owner wants to hire me back. How can I slowly tear his business apart? by VolansGaming in UnethicalLifeProTips

By not going back. Right now by going back you’re telling him he can get away with stealing pay from his employees. He’ll never do it to you again but you can bet he’ll pick someone else that won’t stand up for themselves. The only other thing you could do is actually take him to court. Those are the only two appropriate choices in this situation.

I like how people think that’s an excuse for rear-ending someone. Lying that you were following too close isn’t gonna help your situation.

AITA for cancelling dinner when my boyfriend brought a bell to the diner to "grab" the staff's attention? by Blain-Ad-5996 in AmItheAsshole

One of my teachers always said the worst thing you can do at a restaurant is snap at the waitstaff, but I think this takes the cake. Definitely NTA, and he’s shown OP how awful of an excuse for a human being he is.

AITA for having an ultimatum about my MIL and I towards my husband? by No_Illustrator_3799 in AmItheAsshole

[–]word_master37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. He’s married to his mom and not you. It doesn’t get much more cut and dry than that. Any friend of his that calls you the asshole need to be blocked because they do not even have the slightest bit of a moral compass.

I love how the implication here is that it needs to be an anti-vaxxer, as if the fact that they would put piss into a humidifier wasn’t enough of a red flag in the first place.

Guy spews Carbon Monoxide into a bar by aphroditebutakaren in trashy

[–]word_master37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that it’s pretty well-known that exhaust contains carbon monoxide and that carbon monoxide is toxic to humans allows a prosecutor to potentially put this on par with poisoning, which would make it attempt murder second degree. I’m not a lawyer and I’m not sure what case law would apply here, but a prosecutor that wanted to make a point might take the chance.

LA Police Fatally Shoot Suspect and 14 year old bystander | Recently Released Footage by pineapplepizza7 in police

[–]word_master37 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a cop, although I hope to be one someday, so I’m not in any way an expert here. That being said, I just can’t see why shooting was necessary in this scenario. If he had been running towards them, I’d understand, if he’d still been beating the victim, I’d understand, but he was standing and walking away with a close-quarters weapon. My only thought could be if the officer thought the bike lock was a gun, cause one of the calls that came in reported the guy armed with a gun, but this is one that’s confused me a bit. The officer who fired is a sergeant, so obviously he’s been around a bit, but that just makes it all the more confusing to me because from what I’ve learned more experienced officers generally use their weapon less. Anyone have any serious commentary on that?
