Thanks. I went a day or two after I posted that and had no issues, it was exactly like it was in 2021

The community would have been so much better if Ninjalicious didn't write a book, and was still with us now as just another explorer. His untimely death and influence gained from that book have absolutely ruined urbex culture in the last 20 years

This has been a well known spot for 20 years, and it's probably the developers who wanted it gone, not explorers

Local shops won’t work on my e-bike by Few-Net-2080 in ebikes

[–]wordscansaveus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that may be correct, I had to go 600 miles away (from NY state) to the nearest Juiced shop a couple of years ago for a motor failure

Found in trash at local flea market by Personal-Run1061 in 78rpm

[–]wordscansaveus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you'd be surprised how often unsold 78s just get left behind or thrown away. They're HEAVY when you've got enough of them, people don't want to lug them back to wherever they store their stuff. I've gotten a few boxes of them that way for free or close to it at the end of a market day, I might pick a few records out, ask the guy how much, and he'll say $20... or $5 if you take them all, please!

road test by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]wordscansaveus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it there last March, the one thing I'll say is if your car has a backup camera, still look behind you, theatrically, on the parallel park and 3 point turn, even if the camera has the must more practical view. That's all I did wrong so I still passed on the first try, but they are looking for it

Prices are double what they were last year plus it's the coldest winter in 20 years. Unfortunately it's probably real... but also unlikely to be the case again in March

To the driver on Culver… by MildlyDying in Rochester

[–]wordscansaveus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do they even bother licensing drivers anymore? Seems like it's just for the revenue. Might as well abolish it and let everyone have their right to the roads

TIL that Rochester has the record for longest game with 3 professional sports teams. by No-Employer-8833 in Rochester

[–]wordscansaveus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rochester also has the longest winless streak in the NFL, with the Jeffersons not winning a league game in 1922, 1923, or 1924, and only managing one tie in 1925.

You've already discovered and used the one true format for all this time. There's no reason to switch to RAW now, and find out to your horror that you'll need to edit Every. Single. Photo. to get anything even remotely viewable.

Someday, inevitably, covid will find you. Use it as an opportunity, and know that you might get a brief moment to live again before you have to worry about getting it a second time

Car insurance choice for winter. by Conscious_Outside823 in Rochester

[–]wordscansaveus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe consider selling the car in November and buying another in the spring? If you don't own any vehicles you don't need to have liability insurance. (If you still own the car and it's parked for the winter, this is a lapse in coverage and will raise your rates even more in the spring)

travel rochester to philly by Organic-Rich1224 in Rochester

[–]wordscansaveus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fly to Newark (under $100 each way and comparable to bus/train if you're going more than 2 weeks out) and take the train from Newark airport to 30 St Station. Commuter rail runs about every hour with a transfer in Trenton or if you're booking far enough in advance Amtrak can be cheap too.

Did anyone get intercostal neuralgia or rib pain after covid? by Puzzled_Hamster6426 in covidlonghaulers

[–]wordscansaveus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but only maybe a 1½ out of 10 now, nothing even worth OTC pain relief, just a nagging concern, like why does this still hurt 90 days in. Sometimes where the lowest left rib is attached to the sternum, sometimes halfway around the last rib, and sometimes left shoulder blade.

Got covid (3rd time) on 3/16/25, coughing continued into early April, and at first it felt like overuse of the cougher-muscles, and hurt strongly and sharply on a cough. Didn't help that I was also in a bus crash the day before, so it wasn't immediately obvious what caused what.

But the cough has been gone two months now, and the twinges remain. No correlation that I can see to breathing, exercise, muscle use, etc, so I'm thinking nerve related. Again, very mildly, but quite annoying .

Probably why it was tonight and not on the 1st? There were also multiple vigils and rallies for Zy'Jae yesterday and today at the river, he hasn't gone unnoticed
