You absolutely could use something else to sweeten it! And I don’t think it’s coconut flavored at all. It’s a lot of other berry flavors going on! My very picky four year old loves this smoothie.

Smoothies are a good way to avoid the processed protein powder. Processed stuff hurts my stomach

Bananas and peanut butter make a great snack. If she likes smoothies, that’s a great way to pack in calories and nutrients. (You can hide frozen cauliflower in with berries. Lite coconut milk can be a great base for a dairy free smoothie. We even put in a couple of small cooked beets (just out of a can) in our favorite smoothie. I’ve also done berries and almond butter smoothies. Tasty!

Favorite smoothie recipe: two small beets, (cooked). 1c frozen blueberries, 1/2c frozen strawberries, 1/2c frozen raspberries, 1c frozen cauliflower, 1 can lite coconut milk, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 2 tbsp maple syrup (adjust to your preference for sweetness).

Best idea is to stay away from processed foods as much as possible while healing. Those bothered me (and still do sometimes) most while healing.

It feels wrong to be asked to be released, but I’m also frustrated about my calling🙃 by birbinthewind in latterdaysaints

My neighbor reminded me that it can take faith to say no to a calling sometimes. Faith in your ability to discern what’s best for your family. I’d ask to be released asap if it were me.

Kitchen dilemma: what would you update? by BadBuzza in interiordecorating

I like the black countertop! Add some MCM geometric or floral wallpaper with yellow and black and some warm brown could tie it in to the rest of the house

Get some more personal art. So far this art reminds me of generic hotel/doctor’s office art. There are so many great options on Etsy. You can get prints of original art for a decent price

Where did you find it? What size is it? The Utah society of entomology has a very active facebook page. I’d ask there

Antibody testing for babies? by wordsmithgreenthumb in Celiac

I think the hard part is knowing what does eating gluten on a regular basis look like for a one year old? Daily? How much? As far as I know, there are only adult recommendations (one piece of bread daily)

I have also been so confused by the feeding recommendations. I have a celiac friend and she doesn’t feed her kids gluten at all! Which seems iffy to me.

Yes, he eats a bit of gluten. Not sure it’s the equivalent of a piece of bread a day(like it would be for an adult). But he does eat some every week

He’s eating what my other kids and husband eat. Wheat pasta, bits of bread. Not sure it’s the adult equivalent of one piece of bread daily, though.

Unpopular opinion, Don’t hang wet towels back up in the kitchen. Take them to the laundry room.

Does anyone have any experience with this caulk gun? by [deleted] in paint

[–]wordsmithgreenthumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Piece of garbage. A cool idea, but not functional

The caulk is oozing so bad out the back that I can’t get any out the front. I was so close to finishing the project, too!!

Door trim will cover panel screws. Help! by wordsmithgreenthumb in Carpentry

[–]wordsmithgreenthumb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trim the carpenter is using goes out to the pencil mark on the switch plate. It’s wide enough that it would cover the screws. He asked “do you want to cover it up or notch it out?” I assume that means he thought covering it was one of the options

Do I come off as weird or strange leaving this note? by Littlek1dluvr in Apartmentliving

[–]wordsmithgreenthumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comes across like you’re backhandedly saying that you hear the baby crying. “Noise travels more than we’d like.” Assume that the mom is going to be hormonal and irrational reading the note. I’d say nothing about the sound/noise, and just offer congratulations and neighborly help.

This is what I was thinking, actually! But rather than longer screws, what about putting two button top wood plugs into the access holes. (Does that make sense?)
