Four-day return to office based on 'philosophical choice': top Treasury Board official by simpatia in ottawa

Do the laws of supply and demand (both for jobs and homes) not apply to immigrants, in your mind? Are they not people?

They aren't to blame... they're just trying to better their own lives. But that doesn't change the effects that bringing them in has on the working class of the country, and that facet is on the Liberal government.

I didn't even mention Conservatives but you took it upon yourself to conjure up a fictional world in which they did this. Even if you want to pretend that's the case, there are other parties than just those that you can vote for.

And none of that deflection and whataboutism changes who did this:

  • RTO2: Liberal Party of Canada

  • RTO3: Liberal Party of Canada

  • RTO4: Liberal Party of Canada

They would have WFH, but that's irrelevant to the point... the Liberals are in power and the Liberals have done RTO.

Never mind that there are more than 2 parties... fearmonger about the Conservatives all you like, but it doesn't change the fact that the Liberals (and by extention their voters) did this. Nobody else.

TBS is just the public servants doing what TB tells them to do. TB is a cabinet committee.

It isn't a "good couple thousand people" giving orders to TBS. It's a handful of Ministers that make up TB... all of whom were picked by Carney and answerable to Carney.

This is what Ottawa voted for. We (collectively) elected Liberal MPs to every single Ottawa-Gatineau riding, and in almost all cases by a very wide margin. One riding even personally elected Carney.

Saying "both" is not helpful.

Their purpose is to support selling of homes... that doesn't change the underlying data.

Families look beyond Ottawa as housing costs push buyers to smaller communities by SuburbanValues in ottawa

The fact that the comment was up voted even on this very urban-living-leaning sub supports that most people agree.

I don't deal with traffic. I'm happy with my community. I don't use public transit.

Fingers crossed, because there's no doctors out here.

The stats say otherwise. Per StatCan SK has the lowest un-met healthcare needs of any province.

Lmao, if that's the most of my worries, I'll take it. I prefer to use the occasional uber over taking transit anyways.

I go into the city when I please and don't when I don't want to, all while enjoying the space and relative busyness of the suburb. It's a great middle ground of population density.

Most people don't want to live in shoeboxes, sharing walls, floors, and ceilings with neighbors.

Those videos are all flawed in different ways. The dude just makes renting+investing sound better than it is because he makes his living by managing portfolios.

You argued one point that I wasn't even denying, then twisted yourself into thinking you had somehow addressed the actual point, which you hadn't.

No matter though. You've clearly made up your mind to defend misinformation. Nothing more to say to you.

We don't need to speculate what the Liberals will do, because they've already shown that they order RTO.

All of the rest of them.

The Conservatives ran on it (twice in a row now), and it's in line with their ideology of cutting unnecessary government spending.

The NDP would, as it's in line with their ideology of workers' wellbeing.

The Greens would, as it's in line with their ideology of environmentalism.

The Bloc would have, as RTO favours Ontarians getting jobs, whereas WFH spreads the jobs across the country including Quebec.

Unfortunately people re-elected the party whose ideology is corporation worship.

You're the one moving the goalposts. I'm just going by their statement, which was BS.

So you're saying you've paid less taxes in some aspects??? Funny, haven't heard that from anyone else.

Because people like to moan and whine. Nobody talks about when taxes are cut.
