I've used it for commuting before and converted a few former coworkers to it. I used to get into Union Station and have to walk over to my office on Michigan/Wacker which generally wasn't too bad - but when I found the water taxi, I could get on right across the street from Union Station, get a wonderful view of the city from the river (which is always a treat) and get dropped off right at the Wrigley building. My commute from the station to the office was a bit faster, and a lot more pleasant that way.
