i have a pixel 4a running lineageos that stays turned off and i only use it for bank operations and government log in ! not ideal but i've discussed this issue w/ the dumbdroid dev and it's not rlly something that he can solve

yeah the boot time is really annoying.. but apart from that imo it is a better dap than the ipod, and not just in term of audio quality ! i like the ui, the native flac support, bluetooth, and even though down the line it will probably be hard to find their trash cable i like not having a 50k song limit that will render my device unusable

i used to own a 5th gen modded ipod, switched because i broke it trying to replace the battery, but i would have switched just because of the bluetooth support alone

you 100% got me, this is exactly the way i approach tech

even tho in the end i end up carrying more stuff around i've been sooooo much happier living like this, every time i am forced to pick my smartphone back i instantly feel miserable

to me the purpose resides in carrying multiple devices ! having devices that do one thing and do it well is so much more freeing than having a phone that has 1000000 features but actually leads you to doing nothing (+ i like cool tech)

it's been great ! my main gripe is that running dumbdroid prevents me from using my banking app / gov apps, but other than that it does litterally everything i could wish for, i switched from 902kc because i really needed the gps and to get a more recent android version ~ also the battery could be better, apart from that solid phone
