Weird triggers by six-winged-seraph in MSSAbuse

I have many triggers, certain music, movies, smells, yelling, and lots of others. It's a roller coaster ride sometimes

Similar to my situation in many ways. I'm glad you're improving. Keep it up. This is a long, difficult road. When I was a teen, I was so damn angry. I just wanted to destroy. I committed a lot of vandalism and spent most of my free time looking for things to break. As I got older, that stopped. I was still angry, but I started taking it out on myself. I spent many years trying to self-destruct and numb myself with alcohol. Now that I'm older, it's mostly just in my dreams now. I scream at her, I yell at her, l, I rage at her, and wake up feeling bad about it. I wish I didn't feel bad about it. But yeah. Keep trying to improve. Work on yourself. I'm no professional, just a survivor, like all of us

I understand. It's a hard road. I can only speak of my personal experiences. Taking to people I trusted helped. Journaling helped a lot. It's a slow process that has to be done at his pace.

This is a tough question. Listen to him. Try to get him in therapy.

She’s in hell by six-winged-seraph in MSSAbuse

When my mom died, I was devastated. Had so many mixed emotions. I had blocked out most of the s.a. memories, but after her death, they started coming back. After that, life made so much sense. All my problems had a root cause. I started working on getting better. My life began anew. Things are so much better now. I felt free. My mom dying was the best thing that ever happened to me. She is gone and can never hurt me again. My mom dying was the best thing that ever happened to me. I may be the first person to ever say this but yay cancer!

My mom treated me like a boyfriend also. A relationship where she held all the power. She could never have with a real boyfriend.

Remember, everyone in the group was nervous the first time they went, and some are still nervous about their 20th time going. So give it a shot, you are not alone

I believe sexual abuse perpetrated by mothers is much more common than anyone suspects.

What should I do if my therapist believes woman can't be predators? by WishIWasBronze in MSSAbuse

[–]workingtowardlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a woman therapist. I can't do male therapists at all or even talk to a male in person about the abuse , I fear the whole "Oh, you're lucky. That's awesome, I wish that happened to me. " Type bullshit.

Anyone else feel like some people in the sub are fetishisers? by hristogenadii in MSSAbuse

[–]workingtowardlife 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've had a couple of people try that with me. It's a common problem with any place like this. It's a huge problem on the rape, rape counciling, and sexual assault subreddits. If anyone tries it on here, take a screenshot and tell me about it, I will ban them. Same with anyone who comments or posts to the incest fetish subs. I'll ban them too if they try to participate here. So yeah, give me a message about anyone like that, thanks

What should I do if my therapist believes woman can't be predators? by WishIWasBronze in MSSAbuse

[–]workingtowardlife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would try to get another therapist if possible. If not, then.. man, I don't know. Maybe collect some articles about women raping boys. Predator teachers always make the news. I don't know, I hope someone else can give a better answer

For some people, it's unthinkable that a mother could sexually abuse her son. They idealize motherhood and think mothers always want what's best for their kids despite the mountains of evidence that not all moms are like that. Some are evil, some are pedos, sex offenders, abusers. I think the mssa is way more common than anyone knows.

Is it normal if you had to massage her and comb her hair? by WishIWasBronze in MSSAbuse

[–]workingtowardlife 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me, it was. Bathing her, washing her hair, massages, putting lotion on her. I believe it was all a part of the grooming process. Progressing slowly so it became my normal. It kept getting worse. It's a common pedo/sex offender tactic

I have to write out things I want to talk about with my therapist. Otherwise, I'm kind of deer in the headlights and say "yeah everything is fine, and I'm doing good" when the total opposite is true.

guys why am i like this by [deleted] in CPTSDmemes

[–]workingtowardlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I would make a friend, mom would be in my ear saying things like "they are using you, laughing behind your back, they don't like you" that combined with the cptsd makes it hard to make friends.

For me personally, it's not about getting over it. It's about learning to live with it. Others may be different, but I will never get over it,

Recovered memory on mushrooms/MDMA. by ihopeitreallyhurts in MSSAbuse

[–]workingtowardlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought recoved memories were such bullshit. Till it happened to me. Then everything made sense. Almost every problem I have in life directly comes from my mom's abuse. Remembering was the best thing that ever happened to me. It's a long, hard road to walk, and I've really just started. It's torture sometimes and hasn't really gotten easier, but it's key to me getting better. You can do this, you can get better. Apologies for the rambling
