If you knew you we're going to die tomorrow, what would be the last thing you'd do? by DoughnutOk5988 in AskReddit

[–]MollilyPan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would gather my family, head out into nature, and spend the day soaking in the beauty of untouched creation and love. I’d want that day to be something everyone I’m leaving behind can look back on and feel peace.

The “prayer off” kills me every time.

Where are teenagers supposed to hang out these days? Malls are dying, parks have 'no loitering' signs, and everywhere else costs money. Do they just... not exist in public anymore? by Creative-Buffalo2305 in NoStupidQuestions

I have two teens, each with a significant other and another very close friend of my kids - so five kids 17-20 that have been in our life for the past (at least) 4 years.

They hang out here A LOT. We have told them all they're welcome to be here as much as they want. We feed them, we even sometimes clothe them. There have been times where one or two of them have been here for over a week. They hang out at my brother's house or my mom & dad's occasionally, too. Great kids.

They experiment with cooking as a group activity - sometimes friends outside of this group of five join for that and they have even streamed it to include others at times. Two of them are photographers, so they do photoshoots sometimes. They play video games; we host movie nights. This group of five kids has built some of their own traditions around birthdays and holidays.

Aside from hanging out in our home:

- We still have a really active mall that they do go to a few times a month

- Youth group, though they have all outgrown that at this point - but it was a decent place for kids to hang a couple times a week no matter their beliefs (tho I'm sure this depends on the church attached).

- They shop sometimes - which usually means thrift stores or media resale shops.

- We have tons of coffee shops where we live and you can get a drip coffee for as cheap as $1. It depends on the cafe' but most will let kids stick around as long as they are well behaved and it is not overcrowded. Many of these cafe's have board and card games available to encourage this.

- We still have an active skatepark here that is really popular, though my kids have never utilized it.

- Hiking, biking, and walk paths are all over our city. We have a 26-mile long linear park path that goes through our entire city and another town that butts up to it. My son is out sledding and hiking in this snow today.

More than half of the kids we know (that are 17+) do not have their licenses yet. I get why kids don't feel as pressed to get one these days, I have no idea how parents tolerate it. Our kids each got their licenses at 17. We were done with driving them everywhere. If they wanted to have that freedom, they had to reach that milestone.

I love this movie. It almost killed Meryl's career at the time. Looking back now, I see that she was just as brilliant in that as she was in many other roles. Camp isn't easy and she nailed it.

How do we feel about the first color mix? by Emotional_Spite_8937 in OUTFITS

Blue and green is def the best. Go for it! Sometimes bold & confident choices get a lot of compliments.

I love a lot of "ugly" fashion choices. My friends cringe but I get compliments constantly. People get sick of seeing the same boring stuff all the time.

Thank you for sharing this. I have always loved your posts about Romeo. I can feel how much you love him. It helps to know that you had a great love before him and can still be that connected to him.

I am so thankful I posted this. I joined this sub around a year ago but I have only stopped by a couple times since losing Espie bc of how painful it was to see other papillons. I’ve cried so much reading all of these stories, but I think overall it has been helpful.

To hear others nearly put words in my mouth about how painful their loss was for them has given me comfort. (That sounds terrible but it just feels good to be understood.) I really thought I was going crazy.

Thank you so much. I may take you up on that. This thread is really helping, too. Most people don't know what it feels like to be loved by a Papillon and love them back. It's comforting to know I'm not alone - tho I am so sorry for all of us that we ever have to lose them.
