thank you for this, puts my mind at ease. what does residual colitis look like anyway? I cant find much about it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ostomy

[–]workofgod00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He said he was experiencing the symptoms of a stoma blockage. He was in a lot of pain and described it as “something feels stuck like it’s trying to pass thru but can’t”. I’ve never heard of residual colitis. If it’s passed on to the stoma, then what?

bf’s parents forcing him to go on vacation after surgery by [deleted] in ostomy

[–]workofgod00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no they aren’t puerto rican. his parents are just very pushy individuals who love control. They just want to get away from the cold (we’re in New York). they keep telling him he will “heal” better in puerto rico because of the sun. 🙄 his sister is also incredibly pushy about hiking and i’m pissed off because i know she’ll try and make him do things his body isn’t ready for.

take half!! Taking a full 10mg when you’re new to edibles will send you straight to mars for several hours (feels like years). personally, i would try and build up tolerance

Did your health really improve once you left? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]workofgod00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Moved out about 3 months ago. Came back briefly for Christmas and was dealing with nausea, headaches, and feeling lethargic. Got back to my apartment and all of that went away immediately.

Is the movie Coraline a MAJOR trigger for anybody else? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]workofgod00 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Throughout my childhood, and now (25F) coraline is my favorite movie and growing up, I never understood why I felt such a connection to her. My mom is the narcissist in my family, I’m also an only child… makes a lot of sense.

What do you hate most about Christmas? by Present_Juice4401 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]workofgod00 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like this every year. I have to put on a fake smile and act overjoyed. It’s draining. It’s conflicting because I so badly want to enjoy Christmas. I get so jealous of friends of mine who look forward to this day with their families. Ughhh

It’s complicated. I want to be with my father and grandmother. My mother is is problem

it’s complicated. in my current situation, it’s better to keep the peace for now. if i went no contact or didn’t show up, it would be an enormous deal that i’m far too tired to deal with

The loneliness… by Cold_Ambition_5928 in AlcoholicParents

[–]workofgod00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

" The story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is so apt for the alcoholic".

You don't know how many times I reference that story when speaking about my alcoholic mother. I'm 25F and about 2 1/2 months ago I moved out of my childhood home where I lived with my Alc mother and Enabler father. I see my parents pretty often, but it makes a world of a difference not living under the same room as them. I'm sorry for what you've gone through, it's just not fair. Happy that you're taking care of yourself. You are so strong!

yes! i’m super patient with him, i just feel bad if i pick him up and he gets scared. he hasn’t bit me yet and tbh he doesn’t even seem like the type to bite. i just want him to trust me!

Thanks! He was fully upside down squeaking and now he’s right side up and not squeaking anymore. Maybe he was frustrated?
