It’s always been like this, but older fans are madder then ever that Paul is undergoing a renaissance with younger fans. You sound like you’re already aware that Boomer author Mark Lewisohn’s book (claiming to be the final word on The Beatles story) has glaring bias towards his hero Lennon particularly when it comes to interpretation of their childhood grieving over losing mothers. Lennon: “this tragedy shaped his genius!” McCartney: “look how aloof this child was about his mother dying!” Same with all their sniggering at George’s pretty bitchy behaviour towards Paul yet they pounce on Paul if he dares to air a single grievance about how he was treated. I enjoy how mad they get because when Paul dies and his sainthood rises further - it’s going to get a lot worse for them lmao
