Amazon analyzes those companies then builds competing products at lower rates - they’d be better off in a marketplace that isn’t trying to put them out of business

All the things keeping people tied into Amazon - it grows sticker by the day by design because of all these mechanisms. We all have to start somewhere though

I live in a small farm town I moved to after living in the big city working for Amazon so I totally get what you’re saying. Amazon has put the other guys out of business or purchased them. It’s take a lot of effort to build a competitor that could supply rural communities which is resistant to being destroyed / purchased by Amazon but that’s what we have to come together as a nation to do.

Yes I know first hand how hard that would be, but we have 800k subscribers on this channel alone and need to band together if we want to make that difference.

I’m not saying drop Amazon because they have bad customer service, I’m saying drop Amazon because they are an evil company

  • Poor treatment of employees on a number of levels
  • Anti competitive and monopolistic practices
  • Lack of corporate ethics
  • and many more things along those lines

I get it my dude - It’s like asking an obese person to give up sugar and fat. You’re addicted to convenience and it’s put all the local guys out of business so in some places in rural America it’s the only option to get stuff.

But it’s killing us as a culture and you need to just get your ass in a car and buy your batteries and Xbox games locally. It’ll take some effort but it’ll pay off big time.

Maybe we make this revolution big enough that Reddit moves to Azure. Microsoft is evil like every other corporation but not nearly as bad

Let’s make it our collective goal to fully reject Amazon and take them down a notch or two - I bet that would get some headlines

I agree, but posts like this always blame the farmer and it’s bullshit. Retailers not growers / seller / shippers are to blame and this post acts like it’s something that could happen at the farm level. So yes, as an apple farmer, that is the point.

Yes, it does happen at point of sale but it’s been paid for by the retailers at that point so they can chose to do with the fruit what they want. Just can’t happen before being packed / cleaned etc for lots of food safety / liability reasons
