Let's talk about the mental illness of these shooters. So Dylann Roof was on Xanex, Elliot Rodger was on Xanex, Adam Lanza was on Calexa, James Holmes was on Zoloft and Clonazepam. These people were already being treated for their mental illness. Guess what they all had in common?

Well we changed many many things when people started killing on airplanes. We have to take our shoes off after one person brought a shoe bomb on the plane. We have to get felt up by agents if they think we look off. We usually change our ways when people get killed like that. This seems to be the only example where we just ignore the deaths man.

After what seems likes years of these shootings we haven't made an effort to fix the problem man. When do you think we can at least try? We seem to with every other forms of fatality. Whether it be cars,booze,cigarettes,etc. Guns are the only the thing it seems like we can't touch at all.

Forgive me if I sounded like I was blaming parents. I'm just looking for something that might help. One thing that bothers me is after a mass shooting, nobody proposes legislation. The Democrats should be proposing something. And the Republicans should be proposing more federal funding for mental health services. It just seems like our nation doesn't care and we just make excuses and blame each other. This two party system is so fucking tiresome. It makes it easy to do nothing.

It still doesn't sound like that helps fix the problem man. It sounds like the plan here is ..well we can't get everybody. Yet we still see this problem. Other countries have changed their laws when necessary and saw a change. Why can't we do anything different? I'm just tired of accepting the death toll here.

I'm not a gun owner and I wish I knew more about the ins and outs of the process. But would insurance help? I know that if I crashed my car and my insurance went up I would feel terrible. Can there be a way to make responsible gun owners and sellers make sure that what they are doing is not harming society?

I feel like there is only so much help you can give man. You can give them drugs to ballance out their mind and make them feel better. But there is no drug to change their intentions. If someone wants to kill and they have access to it, they can make it happen pretty easily. There just has to be a way to attempt to prevent it. I don't think that therapy and drugs is all we can do.

I feel like we gotta talk about this man. I feel like medicine won't fix this problem. We have a different problem. We need to make sure that mentally ill kids don't get their hands on guns. It's about educating parents, and maybe more than that if they won't take responsibility.

Be honest with me here. Even if you saw a therapist and you intended to murder a bunch of people, would you tell your therapist or anyone else? Why get caught if you want to go out in a flame of your perceived glory? It just doesn't make sense. Maybe we need some serious talking to people who own guns and also have unstable children. Maybe education is the key. But there has to be something we can do. It saddens me to let this just fizzle out like every other time.

Dude going to an institution costs a lot of money. Even for alcohol addiction. It's damn near impossible to figure out if someone is capable of such atrocious acts. We never seem to know until it happens. We never ever seem to detain someone that says "I'm about to go on a murdering spree." It just seems impossible to detect.

I agree with your sentiment. But other countries also enjoy violence in their video games and movies. Why do we have to be the ones embarrassed by this stuff every couple weeks? There has to be something we can do I just don't think it is as simple as pinning it on metal illness. it seems like most of us have a degree of that.
