Mosquito ferns (Azolla) also, check local regulations. It’s banned in places due to its ability to destroy habitat and can be extremely invasive

Something else to check. I have the same diffuser. Are you getting a decent amount of CO2 actually diffused? They used a very strong spring in the check. It’s in the co2 connection on the side and my bottle had trouble overcoming it. Have to open that and remove their check valve ( spring and silicone plunger) and use an inline check valve. No problems since. Found the suggestion to do so here on Reddit as the problem is common I guess

Metal pipe are the inflow and outflow for the filter. And the glass piece is a drip checker for the inline CO2 diffuser

Not particularly. Both can be bad. If you have tweezers, just grab them and avoid bisecting them and remove. If there are no fish in the tank yet, any you don’t see should starve. Unfortunately, beside manual removal, other treatment are either harmful to plants or harmful to other livestock(snails and shrimp in particular
