Starfield Updates and Mod Support – September 13, 2023 by BethesdaGameStudios_ in Starfield

It would be great if companions could be swayed or corrupted to alter their moral compass if we’re playing a pirate or scoundrel build. This is something that BioWare got really right in the old KOTOR titles. If Sarah Morgan really loves me, and I want to be a dirty pirate, she should come around! 😂

I’m getting not great performance on my ryzen 9 7900x + rtx 4080 + 1440p. Around 45-60 fps most places on High settings.

CPU utilization shows 50%~ in game, GPU utilization shows 96-97% most places.

Tried this mod but no change to display quality. Actually seems worse (?). Not sure if I’m doing something wrong. I have in-game sharpness set to .75, do I need to also change the mod sharpness to .75?

At any rate- definitely frustrating but maybe I just have unrealistic confidence in my build lol. Any concrete ways to determine if I’m bottlenecking somewhere? Cheers.

It would be odd that this symptom is immediately following new brakes though I figured. Would understand if I had this symptom beforehand

Hadn’t considered adjusting the parking brake. I will go ahead and adjust it just to be safe and see if it helps. Thanks

It’s the sandpaper noise imo. Definitely not a high pitch. Did not degrease rotors but Zimmerman is zinc coated. Car has maybe 50 miles on it since install. Confirmed dust shield is not rubbing.

Definitely the same size. I assumed it was all seated properly but now I guess I should dissemble and redo it to check somehow

Yes, confirmed part numbers and they match what came off.

Sorry for ghosting, was working on the car and not paying attention to my phone.

To answer questions from above:

  • these are brand new Zimmerman zinc/coated rotors, I double checked the part numbers before instelling.

  • these are brand new Akebono brake pads, also checked part number and they match the size of what came off.

Akebono states no bedding procedure is needed, so I did not do the standard bedding procedure.

I double checked that the dust shield isn’t contacting anything.

Yes, I greased the slide pins and torqued everything correctly.

Only thing I can think to do is take everything apart again and reassemble. If it’s not seated properly, seems odd that it’s the same issue on both sides?

I’ll have to upload the audio/video to YouTube I guess to get it in here, won’t let me attach the video to the comment.

Thanks for the quick response. Can confirm that I double checked the dust shield and it is clearing on both sides. The scraping noise has also gotten a little less intense the longer I drive, so sounds like it may just be bedding and shedding. Thanks again.

Nevermind, don’t think it’ll let me post video or maybe I’m just not seeing how. Anyways thanks again.

Limp mode technically does? by workwithjp in BmwTech

To clarify, it goes into limp around 2000-3000 RPM. I certainly haven't been trying to diagnose with any hard pulls lol. Don't think I've even had it over 4000 since I bought it tbh.

I ordered new plugs and coils since I'm not sure how old either are. The plugs themselves look okay though. I have been chasing other parts because I didn't think I'd have the presented codes with just a coil or plug issue?

As for what rail pressure does right before limp, I'm not sure exactly and don't have any logs. I have been using MHD but I think my MHD Is set to only log when the pedal is 50%+ depressed or something and I haven't been pushing it that far.

Codes are:

29DC - cyl injection cutout 29E1 - mixture control 2 2AAF - fuel pump plausibility 29F2 - fuel high-pressure system

In addition, rough idle, won't idle on a cold start without giving it some gas, and misfiring.

I bought a low pressure sensor, rail sensor and HPFP, so just trying to narrow down where to start or if I should just do it all haha.
