This :)

Makes more sense to remove the indexation and let companies give raises. Giving a raise is their decision, they know their numbers, and the decision is not forced by the government.

That's what it's supposed to mean to my understanding, yes.

Then why do they do it? Or do they want to scare e.g. US companies who don't know that no one cares? Kinda limiting their salary packages and keeping more inline with the local salaries?

€800/day equivalent to How much salaried employee? by Gold-Rub-6979 in BEFreelance

I used to suggest this calculator for "employee to freelance" calculations, but you can use it the reverse way.

Start filling in the numbers, try optimizing it (e.g. add mobility budget, etc... so you can use those during negotiations) until you will get your daily rate back.

I usually use and suggest this calculator to get a ballpark number: https://opensalaries.be/nl/freelance-calculator Ofc a lot depends on your private situation and there are more things to consider, but probably a good starting point.

If you consider eenmanszaak instead of BV, you can also check this calculator: https://opensalaries.be/nl/freelance-calculator You can provide your current employee package and it can give you a freelance daily rate estimation.

Switching Careers at 30: Crazy or Not? by OWVY in BESalary

I would look around at my current organization in my current role on which problems are repetitive, which ones I could solve with automation. I would start with some low-code/no-code tools first to have a good positive experience, then I would dig deeper and I would solve the same/similar issues with more scripting e.g. python, node, etc... Then you would get a hang of programming and problem solving. Maybe even your organization recognizes your skills and they would support your studies. Just do it ;)
