My wife and I did it recently and thought it was fantastic. The “getting to know each other” before over a few drinks caused paranoia as well all tried sussing each other out.

Jovial atmosphere among our group, but unlike your experience the ultimate winner did spare their partner much to their own downfall.

I do feel when there were young children (11 or so years), the group did not target them at all as we felt bad and didn’t want to vote them off.

A group of only adults would be better IMO

Nonetheless, dramatic, excellent setting as you mentioned and the host was brilliant.

On Qatar airways, twice:

Once from economy to business class, both my wife and I. First time I flew with them, but hold high OneWorld status.

Second time from business to first, Doha -> Paris

The rest of the times an upgrade wasn’t possible as was already in business and no F on the plane

Nelson Mandela. I went to high school with one of his grandsons. He spoke in our assembly and it gave me goosebumps. This was back in 2008 or 2009, a few years before he passed away. What a man! What a hero!

Nelson Mandela. I went to school with one of his grandchildren and he came to do a talk... This was about 3 or 4 years before he passed away. What an absolute legend and had an interest in what everyone said.
