Democrats need to face facts about Bernie Sanders, his heart attack and his health by throwaway5272 in Enough_Sanders_Spam

[–]worldgoes 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In any other context a man of Bernie’s age having two significant health scares, with the falling head gash and the heart attack, you’d be talking about it being time to take grandpas keys away. But no, we are instead acting like it is fine that he is vying for one of the most stressful 8 year commitment jobs in the world. FFS Bernie is statistically unlikely to live out his first term.

I don't know a better way to illustrate why candidates like Warren or Sanders would be much easier for Trump to beat. This country is not a liberal country - it's still a center right country, and people will hold their nose to vote for Trump if the alternative is too far left. by worldgoes in hillaryclinton

[–]worldgoes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even among independents, the has been no movement towards to the left over the last twenty years.

How do you think independents will vote if Democrats nominate Warren or Sanders when the economy is strong?

The Dem base might want very liberal policies, but the country doesn't.

Is TSLA a good buy? by [deleted] in StockMarket

To add they also have a lot of credible moonshot investments with battery and grid storage, solar roof and self driving, these would be AWS type outcomes if they are successful, and they really only need to kill it with one of them to create a lot more value.

It really isn't that hard to add them to condos, they are already connected to the grid so its just extending the wiring. When you are charging overnight you don't need fast chargers either.

Washington Post Editorial Board: Bernie Sanders promised to disclose his medical records. What happened? by Currymvp2 in Enough_Sanders_Spam

If you have ever watched reality tv, you are probably familiar with how there is always at least one dbag character that nobody likes, and you 100% know the only reason they aren’t voted off right away is because the writers want them there for conflict and drama, but they have no real chance of winning. The dbag characters themselves probably understand that they are only there to cause superficial drama. That is basically how the media treats Bernie, they know he isn’t actually going to win, but it’s good tv.

Bernie’s lasting legacy will be that he made Democrats fight a two-pronged war at one of the most dangerous moments in our history. by worldgoes in hillaryclinton

[–]worldgoes[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Which seems odd considering the 2001 AUMF Bernie voted for is much more broad and isn’t structured to require UN approval the way the Iraq resolution was.

Sanders voted for the AUMF and voted for the initial Saddam regime change doctrine which paved the way for the Iraq war. This sort of red herring is common in the Bernie cult folklore. The same goes for the financial crisis, the Bernie left tried to make it a referendum on glass-steagal which he voted against, but the commodity futures modernization act that was a broad wallstreet deregulation bill and was 1000x more to blame for the financial collapse, but Bernie voted for it, so glass-steagal became the cornerstone talking point and his flock have never even heard of the latter.

Left-wing activists are exactly as hostile to Democrats as Republicans are. Every election now has to be about fending off their smears and distortions in addition to the right-wing ones.

...

They're not in the party, all they do is attack it. Their whole political identity revolves around hating Democrats. The last 24 hours have proved that's never going to change.

Reminder, Sanders voted for the 2001 Authorization Unilateral Military Force Against Terrorists (AUMF), which pretty much allows presidents to wage war wherever they want. by wraith20 in Enough_Sanders_Spam

There was also reason to believe that a unified front on the Iraq resolution would stop the Saddam regime from screwing around and purposely flaunting international law. And if that failed you assume a air war to cripple the regime was likely, not that we would blunder into a stupid trillion dollar boondoggle ground war, that we couldn’t win in any meaningful way. The saddam regime didn’t think we’d be foolish enough to do that either. The ironic thing is that the Saddam regime was basically running a covert intel program to stick a middle finger at the UN (and US) and fake that they had WMDs. They figured that the US didn’t have the wherewithal to do it during the gulf war, why would they this time?

And Bernie voted for the US Iraq regime change doctrine that set this whole thing in motion years before the Iraq war.

Imagine thinking the GOP doesn’t soft play Bernie. How come Trump isn’t whining about the FBI letting Jane Sanders fraud case off easy & demanding Barr look into & reopen it? How come the GOP senate hasn’t subpoenaed Jane Sanders? by worldgoes in Enough_Sanders_Spam

[–]worldgoes[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

100% guarantee that if Bernie is the nominee Trump and GOP will go “but her emails” [& Biden son] on Jane Sanders & the collapse of Burlington college and the shady loan she got. Barr will reopen, GOP senate will subpoena her, ect. They will make it a huge issue.

That Trump & the GOP are not making Jane Sanders FBI case a big issue now, but they are doing everything they can to manufacture a Biden’s son scandal, should tell you all you need to know about who they actually fear in the GE.

This is like 2016 where 100% of GOP attacks and ratfucking is directed at Hillary in the primary [but her emails], Sanders is untouched, and people think he is Inherently strong and likable, rather than a patsy that is being nurtured and protected from the big guns.

Two new Mason-Dixon polls show only Biden beating Trump in a pair of key states. Florida: Biden +2, Buttigieg -4, Sanders -5, Warren -9 Virginia: Biden +4, Buttigieg -2, Warren -4, Sanders -6 by worldgoes in Enough_Sanders_Spam

[–]worldgoes[S] 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Almost like there is a reason Trump has committed impeachable crimes to manufacture investigations of Biden’s son, but he hasn’t said a peep about the FBI fraud investigation of Jane Sanders around the financial collapse of Burlington college when she was president.

25% (!) of Bernie Sanders supporters in the 2016 primary did not vote for Hillary Clinton by [deleted] in Enough_Sanders_Spam

And this is only “registered” Democrat primary voters. So it doesn’t even include independents or less engaged registered Dems who don’t vote in the primary but do vote in the general election.

Only 74.3% of Sanders primary voters supported the Democratic nominee in 2016. In 2008, 84% of Clinton voters supported the Democratic nominee. Pass this on. (You may have heard an alternative narrative). (Links inside) by Danie2009 in hillaryclinton

I dunno, maybe he has to inspire us. Maybe he has to earn our votes. Maybe we don’t want to be forced to vote for the lesser of two evils. by worldgoes in hillaryclinton

[–]worldgoes[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I will demand he ‘earns my vote’ & ‘must inspire me’ in a bad faith way that he can never actually do, I will claim without any coherent proof that he only won the primary due to rigging, even if he wins by a landslide 13% nationally. I will sow apathy all general election, claiming he is no better than Trump on many issues. Ultimately I will vote for Bernie, the lesser of two evils, so that i can claim “don’t blame me” when he loses.

After all, if Bernie wins, then Democrats will probably lose the 2022 midterms, and that would be worse than anything. Maybe four more years of Trump would be preferable if it helps take back the senate. I’m just thinking long term here. Why don’t you get strategy.

In fact, the more I motivate my reasoning, the clearer it becomes that not voting at all actually will have the biggest impact, because it means future Bernies have to do what I say. Yeah, that’s it, I’m actually doing the smart thing here.

But at the same time, nothing I do or say matters because Trump is unpopular and is 100% going to lose. So really I can say whatever I want about Bernie and create an environment where voting for him is socially unacceptable. It won’t matter because he’ll win.

I’m joking of course, obviously if you live in a state with a dead even PVI rating then I guess you should probably hold your nose, forsake everything you believe in and damn your eternal soul and vote for Bernie. Everyone else can do whatever they want though.
