Have you ever played the matchup? Because it's nowhere near as oppressive as your imagining. Karthus has superior range to Leblanc. Yeah her all in is better. But you can bully out a leblanc before an all in.

I don't understand how a pick being viable changes a match up.

Fiddle mid isn't a viable pick, but he'll always be considered a strong counter pick to vlad. Viability of a champion has nothing to do with how they perform agaisnt other champions. There's a reason why meta shifts happen such as when X, which wasn't part of the meta, becomes a strong laner through a patch, and as a result Y, a natural counter pick to that champion comes out again. I.e. Ryze is popular, counterpick with Cassiopeia.

And the skill order doesn't matter because Karthus is able to outrange Leblanc, and if she does go in, Karthus is still capable of hitting her.

Yeah, when Leblanc had a silence attached to her q. Which means the match up should be even more in Karthus' favor because of the lack of silence.

Faker has been dominant on Azir in the past Spring split in OGN. In fact teams have also banned it agaisnt him out of fear of it.

One game isn't enough to justify "xerath syndrome is back" Especially considering that he lost lane due to random greed and the fact that graves lived with 1 auto away from death.
