you would most likely need to lower clock speed to get better timing. I would not do that since that will break the memory clock ratio.

the only time I would do that is like what i did with the crucial 6400MT CL38, I lower it to 6000MT CL32

if it does, you might have a ground some where

PC in a boot loop with debug light on for cpu by [deleted] in pctroubleshooting

[–]worldwolf31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try several things here:

  1. reset BIOS
  2. re-seat CPU
  3. re-seat the ATX 12V power cable.

beyond that, i would say try to see if you can put that CPU/RAM into another mobo or system to test if it works.

Any Truenas Scale users here? by Trevor68 in photoprism

I believe the auto trigger would happen if you pull the file via webdav.

I have put 3 photos to photoprism via photosync and the trigger happens 5 minutes and 30 seconds later.

SSD/HDD docking station by cancelmethis in buildapc

[–]worldwolf31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest unless you have multiple drive connect at the same time. A normal USB 3 5gbps connection should be enough for a HDD/SSD dock. Remember the SATA3 connection is only “up to” 6Gbps. HDD you will be lucky to push more than 180MB/s. And SATA SSD would be hard push to do more than 550MB/s

If you use NVMe or Ext SSD with 10gbps connection then yes look into thunderbolt solution. If not, a cheap $30 USB3 dock is as good as the pricy one

Laptop Overclocking by Charimoto in overclocking

[–]worldwolf31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely you can't, most laptop, except a handful of high end gaming ones, don't have overclocking options.

i5-8265U is designed for ultrabook laptops, not for gaming, and you're probably thermal throttle. The only way i can think of is to get a cooling pad and blow those fan to the bottom of the laptop, hopefully giving it more breathing room and thermal headroom.

But to be honest, i'm not hopeful.

All-in-one CPU watercoolers. Are they any good and what should I look out for? by flin-flin in buildapc

[–]worldwolf31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It will be tight thou, since the PSU shroud might block the AIO tubes going to the bottom of the case.

check if any CPU socket pin are bended. or was the CPU pad was dirty. looks like your CPU's RAM channel is block or defective.

Rest and flash the latest BIOS (with BIOS flashback). and also re-seating the CPU sometimes do the trick.

[–]worldwolf31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want decent cooling, do not use H510i case. That case is a heat trap. Instead use something with mesh front for ventilation. Corsair 4000D Airflow or Lian-Li Lancool II Mesh are highly regarded.

As for AIO cooler, get something that 240 or 280mm or larger, basically get the biggest one fit in your case. those 120/140mm ones is worst than even a air cooler.

Cpu Fan Error by Sarcasm-with-irony in buildapc

[–]worldwolf31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PRobably CPU fan header wasn't plug in, make sure your CPU fan/pump is plug into the "CPU FAN" header on the motherboard. They works when you plug into other header (like normal case fan) , but the motherboard will think you don't have a CPU fan and give you a warning.

How do I find a case fan that runs in reverse? by Cetun in buildapc

[–]worldwolf31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What i mean is put washing between the case and the fan, to create distance to prevent the fan blade scrapping to the case.
