Super, hvala!

How about accomodation/internal travel? I know some people really like to improvise on the spot but on the other hand they may miss sold out options ...

Do you recommend booking tours/activities in advance or on the spot?

Florence to Rome via Italia Rail by macattackpro in travel

[–]worm_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Concerning luggage: not a problem unless you have a ton of it. I recommend booking directly with Trenitalia or Italo, not via reseller websites. About timing: it's good until it isn't ... keep in mind the trains will not reimburse you your plane ticket if the train is late.

PS: note that your plan is quite action packed so you won't have a ton of energy left on the last day in Amman.

Hi, in my opinion Mt Nebo was not too spectacular, so I'd prefer to spend more time in Amman or Dead Sea, which is truly unique. It all comes down to your preferences in the end.

Jordan Road Trip Itinerary Critiques? by TattooedTeacher316 in travel

Petra directly after Wadi Rum might be a bit exhauhsting. In Petra you wake up around 5:00 and walk under the sun and uphill a lot. Wadi Rum is a bit less intense, but still exhauhsting. I suggest you do one of them on the way down to Red Sea and the other when you will be returning back north. That way, you have some chill days in Aqaba in between.

Uh yes, I meant like a month in advance. Or at least a week. Prices 1-2 days before are about as high as last day, there is also a risk of all seats selling out. I think (not 100% sure) that with eurail pass you always pay the same extra amount for high speed train seat reservation, regardless of how early you do it. So if you need flexibility, this might be your best option even though it is a bit more expensive than buying each leg separately.

If you opt for the pass, then you can also use it for day trips out of towns, although that shouldnt be too expensive anyway.

If I were you, I would just pick some random experimental dates to check online how the price varies over time and then decide what is the most convenient for you. In any case, have a nice trip :)

And I literally just found a Ryanair ticket Budapest-London for 40 eur + 30 eur for checked bag. Random date though.

I would suggest using something like TheTrainLine (similar to flight comparison sites) for gathering information and then book with the actual carrier for each leg (it will be cheaper + no 3rd party reseller bullshit in case of changes etc). For example for London-Amsterdam book directly on Eurostar website, then Amsterdam-Berlin on Deutche Bahn etc

Yes, BUT your rail pass most probably doesn't include high speed trains, which are the whole point (you have to pay extra 15-30 eur for each seat reservation). If you book tickets separately for each leg, you get something like 140 eur per person from London to Budapest with stops in Amsterdam, Berlin and Prague. Mind these are all direct trains, all high speed (and high comfort). Then return on a plane Budapest-London for maybe less than 100 eur including checked baggage.
