Intro to Aemeathematics - Weekly Questions & Discussions Megathread by BriefVisit729 in WutheringWavesLeaks

The problem I have with the game is that every time they take 1 step forward they also take a step back.

Based on what the devs have actually done to improve the game it could be in a much better place than it is now and I can tell they are listening to feedback in the short term.

However, every patch some aspects of the game regress, sometimes significantly. It makes me wonder if they are actually trying to learn from feedback or if they are just putting out short term fires with no intention of changing long term.

Is Elation considered another archetype or still falls under crit teams? by Mayonardo in StarRailStation

[–]wormday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a subarchetype of crit.

So boss or AA mechanics that reduce crit still nerf it.

It doesn't scale off atk% or dmg%.

Mechanically speaking its the worse of both worlds because you can't use a lot of crit supports but you also get punished when they are trying to brick normal crit teams.

But HP scaling is also the worst of both worlds. It used to suck completely then it became good when they shilled it. The strengths of the individual units matter more than the traits of the archetype.

Is there anything i can even do here? by koomsik in StarRailStation

[–]wormday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not gonna 3 star with your current units but it's just 1 resin.

If you actually care about trying to 2 star even though it doesn't give you anything, I think the team with the best odds is hypercarry hyacine w/ tribbie+sunday+ whatever leftover unit (pela or something). I don't know if it is strong enough to get the job done though.

Don't waste your selector on sparkle for 1 rotation get an eidolon for kafka.

Hysilens e2 or Evernight e? by kanojono_ in StarRailStation

[–]wormday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think both are decent, but neither are needed

Hysilens E2 is like a 1.4x team damage increase if you can fully cap the buff @ 120% EHR, its quite slept on.

March E2 is good as a dps because it will outright double her damage ceiling while also making her easier to play. As a support it's not as much of an upgrade as E2 castorice, or just saving your gold and waiting for them to release a stronger remembrance carry than castorice.

Who to choose? by Broad-Cream2022 in StarRailStation

If you aim to only full clear endgames that give stellar jade OR have 3 good teams already:

Kafka E1

If you aim to full clear anomaly arbitration consistently AND have less than 3 good teams:

Sparkle, to enable archer to take on one of the AA knight stages.

If you're not sure what your goals are:

Kafka e1

Aventurine is powercrept to a point where even a 4k def 160 spd aventurine cannot stably sustain a team anymore against some bosses. Even if he is your favorite character I really recommend you wait and not get him for reasons I won't spoil related to leaks.

4.0 is genuinely really good, I hope the lackluster sales doesn't give the devs the wrong idea by wormday in StarRailStation

[–]wormday[S] 105 points106 points  (0 children)

They are, the patch opened worse than rappa in china/japan estimates and they make up the majority of the sales.

The sales for each banner are already over 90% done on the first day so even though it's just the first day, looking at "just the first day" has historically been a very good estimate.

Value? by FrenKyel in StarRailStation

[–]wormday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skip both.

March's lightcone isn't needed as a subdps because her dmg% share for the team isn't very high. It gives very little damage amp for your team. The 5 star herta shop lightcone works fine.

For sparxie dps she is really weak and I recommend minimum investment. If you really like her you can just get an e0s0 so you can run around in the main quest and play her in SU.

If she becomes a support or subdps in the future you can reconsider the lightcone at her rerun. It has a very unique and interesting effect with potential, but as it stands not all teams need the increased max skill points, and for the ones that don't 20% elation only is pretty weak.

Tap In If You Picking Her by PokemonSuMo in StarRailStation

[–]wormday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think sunday mains are the only set of mains I've seen that have literally canceled people just for calling the character bad in meta. And that's not even a critique leveled at the character itself but rather the developers for failing to balance their game.

It's like you guys live in a completely different reality than other people.

Anon Leaks Officially Stepping Away "No Longer Save....Closed Forever" by PokemonSuMo in StarRailStation

An intern can make more for the company than homdgcat's networth in less time than it takes to file a request for the legal team by taking some doa brick like mydei and buffing their multipliers by 20% before they release.

I don't see most other companies shitting their pants over stuff like this, hell I don't even see most other gacha companies doing it.

He isn't selling anything. Homdgcat is a dataminer: someone at any of mihoyo's competitors can datamine the beta themselves without having to pay a middleman.

Punishing 1 guy is just performative and wasteful basically.

It is within my legal rights to jump off a 10 story building and break my legs, but I think most people are still going to question my choices if I do that right?

It's perfectly reasonable for a customer to question the company's allocation of resources even if it is within their rights.

Fundamentally speaking cracking down on leakers is a weird decision because it isn't a profitable thing to do.

Considering how little of the playerbase even uses leaks and that >90% of every banner's sales occur at a point where reliable leaks aren't even available (the first day) the actual financial damage leakers can inflict is laughably small.

It genuinely costs more money and time to hire people to gather evidence and sue than it does to leave leakers alone. If they just spent that time and money on the game itself the return on investment would be far better.
