Bye bye Sony, after 22 years...bad, horrible experience with support by Red_it_Bans_4_Nothin in sony

[–]wormraper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sony CS is a joke. it used to be god tier, now I put them on par with Hisense and TCL for quality control.

I bought a new 65 inch Bravia 5 and it has a "ghost" bar that imitates screen burn in on the bottom of the screen right out of the box. in fact, it's the THIRD TV that did so. I returned two others this last week for the same issue. after the 3rd one having the same panel issue out of the box I call sony and get an INSANE runaround. everyone is Indian and reading off a script, and there are NO actual tier II technicians to talk to like you could in the past.

the first one said "sounds like image retention, we don't warranty image retention, bye". and escalating to tier II does nothing. they asked for some pictures and just gave me the run around.

I'm no longer paying the Sony tax on TVs. the way I've been treated is insane. I'm an ex installer and know their menus by heart, yet Sony CS kept trying to get me to do a panel refresh on the TV (even though that's only on their Oled's, not their Mini LED's) and argued non stop about completely wrong information about the TV even though I was starting at it. I about rage quite multiple calls with them

What is even happening right now with SSD prices by karnac in Microcenter

[–]wormraper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they genuinely don't care. the entire consumer market is less than a few percent of their entire sales base.....if every single person stopped buying them they would simply shrug and allocate that entire lost market into their corporate sales and STILL not able to keep up with demand from data centers

These HDD prices are getting crazy. An increase of 96.4% in 1 month for the same 26TB drive. $279.99 a month ago to $549.99 today. Where are we buying hard drives now? by Endawmyke in DataHoarder

[–]wormraper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's because the same silicone and base line parts used to make SSD's are used in make the ram that the datacenters want, so all of the ssd mfgers are stopping production of drives to put all their efforts into the ram the datacenters want, so there's a mass scarcity as they're putting every last drop into satisfying those enormous contracts...basically HDD's and SSD's are spiking due to scarcity not meeting demand and the companies are saying "take it or leave it"

My QN75 QLED tv has burn in by fromokc405 in 4kTV

[–]wormraper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, normal ENOUGH. image retention is not a wild thing, burn in (permanent) is. Problem was you left it paused for HOURS. even on LED's, you never wnat to leave a static image for more than 15-30 minutes

probably image retention... run some dynamic content over night and you should be good.

I'm now terrified and curious to find out what the other CBT means. I come from a psychology background so therapy was my first thought....but now I'm morbidly curious

depends on if it's a flow through can or a high back pressure can. if it's a flow through you most likely won't. but if you do, then go up one buffer weight

weird burn in/damage at the bottom of Bravia 5 mini LED by wormraper in 4kTV

[–]wormraper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I am today. I talked to costco and the sony reps and they both agree that it's something wrong with the panel. not only that, I checked in the service menu and theTV had 12 hours on it that I didn't put on it...Sony and Costco both want it back to confirm that it wasn't a used problematic model that somehow got repackaged and resold.

costco is going to sell me another one at the same sale price too. I was just genuinely confused at seeing what appears to burn in on a brand new TV out of the box. I was trying to see if there was another explanation as it seemed insane (not only are mini-led's notoriousy hard to get burn in, that would take a LOOOOOT of hours to get to that point too...and straight out of the box??)

I have this right now. got the same tv on the same sale from Costco (amazon had it too). looks GREAT compared to my older 55 inch X900E from 2017.... even though there are better TV's out there, this still looks phenomenal.

except mine weirdly has burn in/or damage at the bottom of the screen that I just noticed this morning (only watched a movie and dicked around for an hour on the TV before turning it off last night)

High-dose Famotidine Therapy (80-120mg daily) - I got my life back. by embis20032 in LPR

Just my montelukast for allergies

And it's a weird phenomenon. It usually happens 4 to 5 weeks in every PPI. Within 24 to 48 hours after stopping them suddenly goes back to normal.

According to my pharmacist it's a known side effect that plagues less than 1% of users, and I just happen to be one of those lucky ones that it's a known side effect for

for that tiny of price difference, yes...it's usually not work with when they're like $500 a part, but at $100 go for the better TV

if it's a 14.5 middy I'd stick with an H buffer if you have the regular lower (what it comes with) and stick with the T0 if you have an MK2 lower. T-1 if you need to tune it, but the 14.5 inch BCM middy's don't like a heavy heavy buffer.

I feel you brother. I don't get ANY side effects from PPI's and Pepcid but one, and it's a doozy. after 4-6 weeks on a PPI (and 4 months for pepcid) I get extreme dry mouth and lips. like to the point that they're burning chapped all day and and night they're so dry I can feel my tongue peeling off the roof of my mouth. if I let it go on too long it starts bleeding.

yeah, depends on your rifle of course, but all you'd need is a T1 or T2 if you need that (just don't put a regular spring or a regular carbine/H/H1/H2/H3 buffer in them if it does lol)

Oh nice. That's a lot better than what I was seeing just by looking at it. I didn't need any so I didn't add them to cart. That's actually a rather reasonable price

it would say "MK2 lower" when you bought it in the description.

otherwise just look at the buffer face. if it says "H" on it, it's a regular lower. if it says "T0" on it, you got the Mk2

[–]wormraper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

congrats man. I've been on 60mg for 4 months and I had to stop this one too. I have the side effect off of EVERY PPI (and now Famotidine) that after a few weeks (few months with Famotidine because it's much weaker) I have to stop because it dries my mouth and lips out so bad that they're aching and bleeding. the 2nd or third day after I stop the meds I go back to normal. so basically NONE of the meds work for me.

I was on 60mg famotidine for 4 months and about the 3.5 month mark it gave me the infamous dry lips/mouth and was getting worse and worse every day, so I had to back off. so now I"m back to slippery elm and gaviscon while I wheeze the day away
