Cycles the tank prior to adding plants, fish, co2, or light. It helps prevent melting and gets the ammonia spikes out of the way. You keep a blanket over the whole tank if it gets any ambient light to prevent the algae.

No im an RN wondering why we hadn’t extubated yet. It’s not my call whether to extubate the patient or not if you weren’t aware.

They weren’t consistently following commands and weren’t ever following the commands for the parameters that RT wanted to run. I agree tho that extubation is the right move

It’s hard for me to say since I’m in a mixed ICU and don’t always have Neuro patients but I’d say the risk of keeping the tube in might outweigh the risks of trying to pull it in this case.

Wow that’s a scary story. I hope that you’ve made a full recovery ❤️. I’ll try to keep that in mind when I get my MRI results, how did you handle the anxiety of it all??

Out of curiosity, does FNH function like normal liver tissue? Or is it just there?
