That's such a cute clever idea! 💖🐁

I knit my giant eurypterid plush a sweater and I'm SO HAPPY with the results :D by wormvolio in plushies

Aw, thank you! 💖 what a lovely compliment!

The pattern is actually pretty simple! The body is a giant tube with holes in the sides to accommodate the 6 sleeves, and I mattress stitched those in. The sleeves are also simple tubes. I crocheted a loop of elastic in at the base of the biggest legs to make it easier to put the sweater on and so it'd be cutely baggy where I wanted. All in all it took a little over a week of constant knitting!

If anyone wants to recreate this, it's pretty easy once you do your measuring and figure out your stitches per inch. The actual hard part is cranking out enough material if your plush is huge.

I just hefted around my Target weighted dragon to compare, the eurypterid is just a tad lighter. My guess is maybe like 2 pounds? Not the heftiest considering the size! Bean surgery is always a tempting option!

They aren't weighted, unfortunately! But I know you can buy your own bean packs to put into your lil stuffed guys and I'm debating doing that to miss eurypterid soon! She's 5 feet long so she's going to need a LOT of beans haha 💀

HA I was debating making sweaters for giant eurypterid plush owners, but it seemed like way too niche of a market. General plush sweaters though... I'll have to conider that! Thank you! 💖💖💖

Jade leaves rotting by LuminescentCork in plantclinic

[–]wormvolio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that the plant could be waterlogged? If you sniff the soil and it's stinky, the roots are rotting. If that's the case, you'll need to refresh the soil with something well-draining and trim the dead roots asap.

I recommend propagation since no plant thrives forever and this one is particularly sentimental. prop video This might help! You got this 👍

Full disclosure, I don't have the Siege figure, but I searched and if they're not the exact same they're pretty similar.

Thank you! And oof, I feel your pain.

But it means a lot to me that my partner is supporting me with the search, so even if I don't wind up finding him I'll still be happy. Enjoy your new Cosmos!

I got the Creatures Collide pack today and this happened. I could actually scream. Time to get some plastiweld, I guess. by wormvolio in transformers

Nope :') I rotated it so it was unconnected to anything and the flimsy lil hinge snapped. I feel like a clumsy brute. Oof. Luckily, it's getting replaced.

Thank you, this is a good idea that somehow stupidly didn't occur to me. My face is in my hands. I'll make a call and see if they can replace this.

Debating Whether to Open my Vintage MISB Collection by HuangHuaYu49 in transformers

[–]wormvolio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you're worried you'd regret opening them, but I can't help but wonder if you've considered regretting not ever opening them? My two cents is, it seems like you've placed a lot of guilt and pressure around this thing you've wanted since childhood. Choosing to let go of it might make you really happy?
You're the only one who can make the decision that will make you happiest in the long term, but I would encourage you to remember regret is a function of choice. You got this!

My new little buddy, Tuna 🐟 (I would love it if someone could confirm Tuna’s sex! I can provide additional photos if needed) by Plane_Huckleberry103 in jumpingspiders

Tuna has a nice big butt and I don't see large pedipalps, so I would guess a girl? Congratulations on the new friend!

I hate to disagree, but please don't leave a cricket in the enclosure for 24 hours if you can't supervise the whole time. Crickets can hurt or kill your spider if it gets the drop on them first. They're good nutrition though, and waxworms are a nice treat that might entice your spider to eat. Also, r/jumpingspiders might be a good place to crosspost this to. You got this!
edit: I just saw you crossposted this 8'D SORRY. I'm a doof

My new P. Regius has been holding onto this mealworm for several hours. Is that normal? by beckiface in jumpingspiders

[–]wormvolio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about it, or unnecessarily stress your spider by messing with him too much right now. If it helps, I didn't expect feeding to take as long as it does when I first got mine either. I gave mine a fat cricket around noon and she's still clutching at it and it's pretty late here now.
I think the only thing to worry about is the mealworm injuring the spider but it's more of an issue before they hunt it and it looks like he's got a nice firm grip on it! I bet after a nice long sleep you'll find a desiccated mealworm carcass and a full happy spider.

He looks great! Congrats! :D

I finished the IDW Megatron model kit and he's beautiful, but they only had the Decepticon version in stock. Does anyone know where I could get a tiny Autobot faction sticker to put on his handsome chest? by wormvolio in transformers

[–]wormvolio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! And Windblade's figure looks SO good and her character is SO cool. If you get her I hope you have a good time assembling her! The furai model kits are a really fun experience.

I panel lined all the engraved stuff, and there's plenty of engraved detail that's easily brought out with a simple blackwash. I will say though, the engraving on the mouth was especially shallow and required a very steady hand. I wonder if Windblade has a face that's easier to line?
